Frozen Carrots for Teething Baby Recipe

Cook Time: 10 minutes

Ingredients

This recipe was developed at its original yield. Ingredient amounts are automatically adjusted, but cooking times and steps remain unchanged. Note that not all recipes scale perfectly. Original recipe (1X) yields 6 servings.

  • 3 large carrots, trimmed and peeled

Directions

Step 1: Fill a pot with lightly salted water and bring it to a rolling boil.

Step 2: Add the carrots to the boiling water and cook until they are tender but not too soft, about 5 to 8 minutes.

Step 3: Carefully remove the carrots from the water, and cut them in half crosswise.

Step 4: Place each carrot half in a zip-top bag and seal it.

Step 5: Put the sealed bags in the freezer and allow the carrots to freeze for at least 2 hours.

Step 6: Once frozen, store the carrots in the freezer until ready to use.

Cook's Note

When your baby is teething, take one of the frozen carrots out and give it to them. As they chew, the carrot will defrost and melt in their mouth because it is pre-cooked.
