- 6 cloves garlic, peeled, divided
- 3/4 cup mayonnaise
- 6 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese, divided
- 5 anchovy fillets, minced
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice (or more to taste)
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 4 cups day-old bread, cubed
- 1 head romaine lettuce, torn into bite-sized pieces
Directions
Step 1: Gather all ingredients on your work surface for easy access.
Step 2: Mince 3 cloves of garlic and place them in a small mixing bowl.
Step 3: Add mayonnaise, 2 tablespoons of grated Parmesan cheese, minced anchovies, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, and Dijon mustard into the bowl with the garlic. Stir well to combine.
Step 4: Season the dressing with salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste. Once mixed, refrigerate until ready to serve.
Step 5: Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Slice the remaining 3 cloves of garlic into quarters and add them to the hot oil.
Step 6: Cook the garlic in the hot oil, stirring constantly, until the garlic turns golden brown. Once done, remove the garlic from the pan and discard it.

Step 8: Place the torn romaine lettuce into a large mixing bowl.
Step 9: Add the chilled dressing, remaining Parmesan cheese, and seasoned croutons to the lettuce. Toss everything together thoroughly to coat the ingredients evenly with the dressing.
