Mid-Summer Italian Bread Salad Recipe

- 1 clove garlic, peeled
- 1 (1-pound) loaf Italian bread
- 2 cups chopped fresh basil
- 1 cup chopped tomatoes
- 1 cup peeled, seeded, and chopped cucumber
- 1 cup chopped red onion
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh thyme
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- cup olive oil, or as needed
- 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar, or as needed
Directions
Step 1: Gather all ingredients.
Step 2: Rub the peeled garlic clove around the inside of a wooden salad bowl to infuse the bowl with garlic flavor.
Step 3: Tear or cut the bread into bite-sized pieces and add them to the salad bowl.
Step 4: Add the chopped basil, tomatoes, cucumber, red onion, thyme, and minced garlic to the bowl with the bread.
Step 5: Drizzle the olive oil and balsamic vinegar over the salad. Toss everything together until the bread and vegetables are evenly coated.
