Garlic-Parmesan Shrimp Recipe
This simple, yet flavorful recipe is perfect for a quick dinner, combining crispy bread crumbs with a rich garlic butter coating for the shrimp.
Ingredients
- 1 cup dry bread crumbs
- 1 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
- 2 tablespoons dried parsley
- 1 teaspoons garlic powder
- 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 2 tablespoons butter, melted (or more to taste)
- Nonstick cooking spray
Directions
- Preheat your oven to 350F (175C).
- Spray a 9x13-inch glass casserole dish with nonstick cooking spray to prevent the shrimp from sticking.
- In a large resealable plastic bag, combine the dry bread crumbs, shredded Parmesan cheese, dried parsley, and garlic powder. Seal the bag and shake it to mix the ingredients thoroughly.
- Add the peeled and deveined shrimp into the bag with the breadcrumb mixture. Seal the bag again and shake it to coat the shrimp evenly with the mixture.
- Lay the coated shrimp flat in the prepared baking dish, ensuring they are spread out in a single layer.
- Sprinkle any leftover breadcrumb mixture from the bag over the shrimp in the baking dish.
- Drizzle the melted butter evenly over the shrimp.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 15 to 20 minutes, or until the shrimp start to crisp up.
- Switch to the broil setting for an additional 2 to 3 minutes to lightly brown the topping for extra crunch and flavor.
Recipe Tip
If you prefer, you can substitute regular breadcrumbs with panko breadcrumbs for an even crispier texture.

I adjusted this recipe for 2 servings for my husband and myself. Anticipating that I wouldn't need the full amount of coating, I used only 1/4 cup of panko and parmesan (even though the original recipe calls for double that amount for half the quantity). This turned out to be just right, and I didn't have any excess. Instead of dry bread crumbs, I opted for panko and substituted fresh parsley since I had it available. I had prepared the shrimp earlier in the day, but they were too dry for the coating to adhere, so I lightly drizzled them with olive oil before breading. Pressing the coating onto the shrimp is essential for it to stick properly. I have another recipe similar to this one, where you butterfly the shrimp, brush them with melted butter, and then sprinkle the breading on top, which in hindsight, seems to work better. These shrimp are delicious, and we will definitely be making them again.

Easy yet incredibly delicious. The preparation is quick and simple. I substituted grated Parmesan cheese for what I had on hand, but I believe it adheres better in stick form. I also added some extra seafood seasonings. Initially, it appeared that not much breading stuck after shaking, but by sprinkling the remaining mixture on top with melted butter, it worked out perfectly. Just ensure not to use too much extra breading - a light coating is ideal. I cooked them for a total of 20 minutes, finishing off with 3-4 minutes under the broiler at the same temperature. The end result was wonderfully juicy and crispy. I would definitely recommend giving this recipe a try.

I just tried this recipe for the first time, and my whole family absolutely adored it. I opted for a mix of 1/2 cup Panko and 1/2 cup powdered Parmesan with just 1/2 teaspoon powdered garlic, and it turned out perfectly flavorful. The breadcrumb coating was more than enough, and this dish is definitely a winner!

Too many crumbs, otherwise it was fine.
