Bang Bang Salmon Recipe

Cook Time: 15 minutes

Ingredients

  • 2 salmon filets (8 ounces each)
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon sweet chili sauce
  • 1 teaspoon chile garlic sauce (e.g., Sriracha)
  • 1 small cucumber, chopped
  • 1 avocado, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon chopped cilantro
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon lime juice

Directions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400F (200C) and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Place the salmon filets on the prepared sheet and lightly sprinkle with 1/8 teaspoon salt.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, and Sriracha until smooth.
  4. Spoon half of the sauce over the salmon filets and reserve the rest for serving.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 8 minutes. Then switch the oven to broil on high and broil until the fish flakes easily with a fork, about 6 minutes.
  6. While the salmon cooks, prepare the salad by combining chopped cucumber, avocado, cilantro, 1 1/2 teaspoons salt, and lime juice in a separate bowl.
  7. Once the salmon is done, drizzle with the reserved sauce and serve alongside the cucumber-avocado salad.

I loved this bang bang salmon!! It was a hit with the creamy sauce, and the cucumber, avocado salad was amazing. Cheers!

I used two 10oz fillets. I didn't have any sweet chili sauce so I substituted Sambal Oelek with a little sugar. In addition I reduced the salt to 1 teaspoon but will reduce to 1/2 teaspoon in the future for the salad. I used 2 avocados, added 1/3 red onion, peeled the cucumbers, and some corn. The meal was light and flavorful.

The salmon and sauce was absolutely delicious! It was well cooked and had great flavor. I served it with jasmine rice and the suggested side salad. While the salad was good, I didn’t feel like it was a great compliment to the salmon. Next time I will serve with a heartier vegetable like zucchini or broccoli.

I think the recipe was really great, but I only broiled for five minutes and I did not add the extra sauce. But the taste is great avocado cucumber salad was delicious. I’ll do this again.

This is a great recipe. It's easy to follow and comes together quickly. The flavors are well balanced, with a nice subtle mix of sweet and heat. The salad is a nice fresh addition. We'll definitely be making this again! The only note I have is that it says 4 servings, but I think it should be 2-3.
