Cook Time: 45 minutes

Ingredients

This recipe was developed at its original yield. Ingredient amounts are automatically adjusted, but cooking times and steps remain unchanged. Note that not all recipes scale perfectly. Original recipe (1X) yields 6 servings.

  • 1 pound ground turkey breast
  • 2 (14 ounce) cans chicken broth
  • 1 (20 ounce) jar picante sauce
  • cup chopped fresh cilantro
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • cup crushed tortilla chips, or to taste

Directions

  1. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook and stir turkey in the hot skillet until browned and crumbly, about 5 to 7 minutes. Drain and discard any excess grease.
  2. Transfer the cooked turkey to a 5-quart pot.
  3. Add the chicken broth, picante sauce, chopped cilantro, lime juice, and olive oil to the pot with turkey. Stir to combine.
  4. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat. Once boiling, reduce the heat to low, cover the pot, and let it simmer for about 40 minutes, allowing the flavors to blend.
  5. Once the soup has finished simmering, ladle it into serving bowls.
  6. Top each bowl with crushed tortilla chips for added crunch and flavor.
