Ingredients
This recipe was developed at its original yield. Ingredient amounts are automatically adjusted, but cooking times and steps remain unchanged. Note that not all recipes scale perfectly.
- 1 tablespoon butter
- cup finely chopped onion
- 1 cup uncooked white rice
- 2 tablespoons raisins
- 1 cups chicken broth
- Salt and pepper to taste
- cup sliced almonds
Directions
Step 1: In a medium saucepan, melt butter over medium heat.
Step 2: Add the chopped onion and saut, stirring occasionally, until the onion becomes tender and translucent.
Step 3: Stir in the uncooked rice, raisins, chicken broth, salt, and pepper. Bring the mixture to a boil.
Step 4: Once it reaches a boil, reduce the heat to low. Cover the saucepan and let it simmer for 15 to 20 minutes, or until the rice is fully cooked and the liquid has been absorbed.
Step 5: Before serving, stir in the sliced almonds to add a nice crunch and extra flavor.
