Sticky Orange Marmalade Chicken Wings Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 (3-pound) bag chicken wings, tips removed
  • 1 cup low-sugar orange marmalade
  • 4 teaspoons Chinese five-spice powder
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon avocado oil
  • 1 tablespoon grated fresh ginger
  • 1 tablespoon sambal oelek (or to taste)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoons salt
  • teaspoon ground white pepper
  • 1 tablespoon snipped fresh chives (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (optional)

Directions:

  1. Place an oven rack in the center and another about 6 inches from the heat source. Preheat the oven to 400F (200C). Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil.
  2. Pat the chicken wings dry with a paper towel and transfer them to a gallon-sized resealable bag.
  3. In a blender, combine the orange marmalade, five-spice powder, sesame oil, avocado oil, grated ginger, sambal oelek, minced garlic, salt, and white pepper. Blend until smooth.
  4. Pour the marinade into the bag with the chicken wings. Squeeze out the air, seal the bag, and shake it gently until the wings are well-coated with the marinade.
  5. Arrange the coated chicken wings in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes. After 30 minutes, flip the wings and bake for an additional 30 minutes.
  7. Remove the wings from the oven. Preheat the broiler and place the wings under the broiler until they sizzle and develop a deep brown color, about 3 to 5 minutes. Watch closely to prevent burning.
  8. Once broiled, remove the wings from the oven and sprinkle with fresh chives and sesame seeds, if desired. Serve and enjoy!
