Beef Tenderloin Filets Recipe
Cook Time: 10 minutes
Beef Tenderloin Filets with Tomato Basil Sauce
Ingredients (for 8 servings):
- 8 beef tenderloin filets (1-inch thick)
- Salt and ground black pepper to taste
- 3 tablespoons butter
- cup dry red wine
- 1 cup heavy cream
- cup beef stock
- 1 cup chopped tomatoes
- cup chopped fresh basil
Directions:
- Pat the beef filets dry with a paper towel. Season both sides with salt and black pepper to taste.
- Heat the butter in a heavy skillet over medium heat. Once the butter is melted and bubbly, add the filets to the skillet.
- Cook the filets for 4 to 5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness. For medium, aim for 4 to 5 minutes per side.
- Transfer the cooked filets to a serving plate. Discard any fat left in the skillet.
- Add the dry red wine to the skillet, bringing it to a boil. Use a wooden spoon to scrape up any browned bits of food from the bottom of the pan.
- Stir in the heavy cream and beef stock. Let the sauce boil for 3 to 5 minutes, or until it thickens to your liking.
- Once the sauce has thickened, remove the skillet from heat. Stir in the chopped tomatoes and fresh basil, mixing until fully combined.
- Serve the filets on plates, generously spooning the sauce over the top. Enjoy!
