Beef Tenderloin Filets Recipe

Cook Time: 10 minutes

Beef Tenderloin Filets with Tomato Basil Sauce

Ingredients (for 8 servings):

  • 8 beef tenderloin filets (1-inch thick)
  • Salt and ground black pepper to taste
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • cup dry red wine
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • cup beef stock
  • 1 cup chopped tomatoes
  • cup chopped fresh basil

Directions:

  1. Pat the beef filets dry with a paper towel. Season both sides with salt and black pepper to taste.
  2. Heat the butter in a heavy skillet over medium heat. Once the butter is melted and bubbly, add the filets to the skillet.
  3. Cook the filets for 4 to 5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness. For medium, aim for 4 to 5 minutes per side.
  4. Transfer the cooked filets to a serving plate. Discard any fat left in the skillet.
  5. Add the dry red wine to the skillet, bringing it to a boil. Use a wooden spoon to scrape up any browned bits of food from the bottom of the pan.
  6. Stir in the heavy cream and beef stock. Let the sauce boil for 3 to 5 minutes, or until it thickens to your liking.
  7. Once the sauce has thickened, remove the skillet from heat. Stir in the chopped tomatoes and fresh basil, mixing until fully combined.
  8. Serve the filets on plates, generously spooning the sauce over the top. Enjoy!
