Cook Time: 35 minutes

Egg Noodles with Bacon and Cabbage

This savory dish combines crispy bacon, tender cabbage, and egg noodles for a flavorful meal that's easy to prepare. Perfect for a cozy family dinner!

Ingredients

  • 1 (8 ounce) package egg noodles
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • pound bacon
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 small head cabbage, chopped
  • 1 dash garlic salt

Directions

  1. Fill a large pot with lightly salted water and bring to a rolling boil over high heat. Add the egg noodles and return to a boil. Cook uncovered, stirring occasionally, until the noodles are tender but firm to the bite, about 5 minutes. Drain the noodles and return them to the pot. Stir in the butter until melted and well combined.
  2. While the noodles are cooking, place the bacon in a large, deep skillet. Cook over medium-high heat, turning occasionally, until the bacon is crispy and browned, about 10 minutes. Remove the bacon from the skillet and drain on a paper towel-lined plate.
  3. Using the same skillet with the bacon grease, add the chopped onion. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the onion softens, about 2 minutes.
  4. Add the chopped cabbage to the skillet with the onions and continue cooking, stirring often, until the cabbage wilts and begins to soften, about 5 minutes.
  5. Chop the cooked bacon and add it to the skillet with the cabbage and onions. Cook together until the cabbage is tender, about 10 minutes.
  6. Stir in the cooked egg noodles and continue to cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, until everything is heated through and well combined. Season with garlic salt to taste.
  7. Serve hot and enjoy this delicious, hearty meal!
