Cook Time: 35 minutes
Egg Noodles with Bacon and Cabbage
This savory dish combines crispy bacon, tender cabbage, and egg noodles for a flavorful meal that's easy to prepare. Perfect for a cozy family dinner!
Ingredients
- 1 (8 ounce) package egg noodles
- 3 tablespoons butter
- pound bacon
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 small head cabbage, chopped
- 1 dash garlic salt
Directions
- Fill a large pot with lightly salted water and bring to a rolling boil over high heat. Add the egg noodles and return to a boil. Cook uncovered, stirring occasionally, until the noodles are tender but firm to the bite, about 5 minutes. Drain the noodles and return them to the pot. Stir in the butter until melted and well combined.
- While the noodles are cooking, place the bacon in a large, deep skillet. Cook over medium-high heat, turning occasionally, until the bacon is crispy and browned, about 10 minutes. Remove the bacon from the skillet and drain on a paper towel-lined plate.
- Using the same skillet with the bacon grease, add the chopped onion. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the onion softens, about 2 minutes.
- Add the chopped cabbage to the skillet with the onions and continue cooking, stirring often, until the cabbage wilts and begins to soften, about 5 minutes.
- Chop the cooked bacon and add it to the skillet with the cabbage and onions. Cook together until the cabbage is tender, about 10 minutes.
- Stir in the cooked egg noodles and continue to cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, until everything is heated through and well combined. Season with garlic salt to taste.
- Serve hot and enjoy this delicious, hearty meal!
