Ingredients
This recipe was developed at its original yield. Ingredient amounts are automatically adjusted, but cooking times and steps remain unchanged. Note that not all recipes scale perfectly.
- 1 (16 ounce) package kielbasa sausage
- 1 (16 ounce) jar salsa
- 1 (10 ounce) jar grape jelly
- 1 cup water
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 2 eggs
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 2 pounds ground beef
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
- cup cornflakes cereal, crushed
Directions
Follow these simple steps to create a delicious meal:
- Step 1: Fill a large pot with lightly-salted water and bring it to a rolling boil over high heat.
- Step 2: Stir in the kielbasa and return to a boil. Cook for 8 to 10 minutes until the sausage is heated through. Drain and cut it into bite-sized pieces.
- Step 3: Transfer the kielbasa into a slow cooker. Stir in the salsa, grape jelly, water, and lemon juice. Set aside.
- Step 4: In a separate bowl, beat the eggs and add the chopped onion, ground beef, salt, pepper, and crushed cornflakes. Mix everything together thoroughly using your hands until well incorporated.
- Step 5: Shape the mixture into meatballs about the size of a large walnut. Place the meatballs into the slow cooker with the kielbasa mixture.
- Step 6: Set the slow cooker to high and cook for approximately 1 hour, or until the meatballs are no longer pink in the center.

This recipe needs improvement. I suggest replacing the jar of salsa with a bottle of Hunt's chili sauce, then mixing it with grape jelly (avoid using jam). My meatballs are made with breadcrumbs, parmesan, parsley, Worcestershire sauce, and milk for a unique twist.

This was incredibly simple and absolutely delightful! On a scale of 1-10, I would easily give it a 15.

I tried Sam's carrot cake and it was absolutely delicious! My boys both gave it two thumbs up.
