Mama H's Fooled You Fancy Slow Cooker Turkey Breast Recipe
Ingredients
- bunch fresh flat-leaf parsley, divided
- bunch dill, divided
- 1 clementine, peeled and segmented, divided
- 1 (2 1/2 to 3 pound) turkey breast
- 2 tablespoons dried onion flakes
- 1 teaspoons dried parsley
- 1 teaspoon ground turmeric
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- teaspoon salt, or to taste
- teaspoon white sugar, or to taste
- teaspoon celery seed
- teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 (16 ounce) can whole berry cranberry sauce
Directions
Step 1: Start by placing at least half of the fresh parsley and dill into the bottom and slightly up the sides of your slow cooker.
Step 2: Scatter about half of the clementine sections over the herbs.
Step 3: Place the turkey breast into the slow cooker on top of the herbs and clementines.
Step 4: In a separate bowl, combine the dried onion flakes, dried parsley, turmeric, onion powder, salt, sugar, celery seed, and black pepper. Mix well.
Step 5: Generously sprinkle the seasoning mixture over the turkey breast.
Step 6: Spoon dollops of cranberry sauce all over the turkey and around the edges of the slow cooker pot.
Step 7: Add the remaining fresh parsley and dill on top of the turkey.
Step 8: Finish by adding the remaining clementine sections on top of the herbs and turkey.
Step 9: Cook on Low for about 5 hours, or until the turkey is no longer pink in the center and the juices run clear. Check after 4 hours to ensure it doesn't overcook.
Cook's Notes
- You can substitute the clementine with an orange if preferred.
- Herbs, salt, and sugar can be replaced with onion soup mix, but the result will be much saltier.
- Cooking times may vary depending on the size of your turkey and the brand of slow cooker.

I absolutely adored this dish! I've made it over 20 times and I'm even considering adding it to the menu at my restaurants.

Review rewritten: I recently tried a new crockpot recipe using a mix of garden veggies, such as potatoes, onions, celery greens, beets, carrots, and lemon slices as a base. I added cranberry celebration salad, fresh herbs like dill, sage, rosemary, and thyme, along with celery salt and dried parsley flakes. To enhance the flavor, I threw in a teaspoon of leftover onion soup mix. Since I didn't have chicken broth, I dissolved a bouillon cube in hot water as a substitute. The result was a beautifully pink turkey, infused with the flavors of beets and cranberry sauce, incredibly moist, and absolutely delicious. I will definitely be making this again. We finished one breast and still have the second one left over, looking forward to making some tasty sandwiches with it!

Absolutely adore this recipe! I will definitely be preparing it again in the future. My husband was also a huge fan. The sauce that you end up with is just divine, especially when drizzled over the turkey.
