Cook Time: 180 minutes

Ingredients

This recipe was developed at its original yield. Ingredient amounts are automatically adjusted, but cooking times and steps remain unchanged. Note that not all recipes scale perfectly.

Original recipe (1X) yields 24 servings

  • 2 (10.5 ounce) cans condensed cream of celery soup
  • 2 (10.5 ounce) cans condensed French onion soup
  • 1 (16 ounce) sour cream
  • 6 pounds frozen Italian-style meatballs
  • 2 (16 ounce) packages uncooked egg noodles
  • cup butter, softened

Directions

  1. In a slow cooker, combine the condensed soups and sour cream. Stir well until everything is evenly mixed.
  2. Add the frozen meatballs to the mixture in the slow cooker and stir them in.
  3. Set the slow cooker to High and cook for 3 to 4 hours, stirring occasionally, until the meatballs are cooked through and the sauce is hot and bubbly.
  4. While the meatballs are cooking, bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil.
  5. Once the water is boiling, add the uncooked egg noodles. Cook for 7 to 9 minutes, or until the noodles are tender but still firm to the bite.
  6. Drain the noodles and return them to the pot. Toss the noodles with the softened butter until they are well coated.
  7. Serve the cooked meatballs and sauce over the buttered noodles. Enjoy!

Really, really good and really, really easy. I made the meatballs from scratch. I used about 1.5 pounds of ground beef, 3/4 of a diced onion, 2 eggs, 1/2 cup bread crumbs, @ 3 teaspoons of diced garlic, 1 teaspoon italian seasoning, salt, pepper, a little onion powder and a little seasoning salt. I baked them for 25 mins on a broiler pan so the fat would drip off. Once I added the meatballs to the sauce (I originally made a half batch of sauce since I only made 1.5 lbs of meat) I decided I wanted more sauce so added another can of cream of celery and then added 2 beef bullion cubes and about half a packet of dry onion soup mix since I didn't have any more canned onion soup. I also added one soup can full of water. I cooked the whole pot on high for about 3.5 hours on high and it was really delicious. The only thing we felt it needed was more salt. We'll most definitely have this again.

This was so easy to make, and you can skip the slow cooker. I started the sauce first and heated it to a simmer, put the meatballs in the air fryer and then dumped them in the sauce while the noodles cooked. Came out delicious!

I made a whole recipe as I had company coming but it was 3 times too much! I used 1 lb. sour cream, 1 can of cream of mushroom soup, 1 can of cream of celery soup, and 2 cans of french onion soup. I bought frozen meatballs and used a little more than 4 lbs. of them. Two pounds of buttered noodles was enough. I thought it had very good flavor. However, I felt it had too much fat in this meal, and I did use reduced fat soup. I think if I had made my own meatballs it would have been better. The store bought ones were good, but they had a lot more fat than if I had made them myself. Also, I would have kept the sauce amount the same and used 2 pounds of meatballs for the amount of sauce and skipped the butter on the noodles, letting the sauce cover them better. I would also use 1 lb. of noodles if using 2 lbs. or less of meatballs. I loved the easy prep. and that I could do this in my slow cooker. Without my suggested changes I probably wouldn't make again, but with them I would.

I read other reviews and cut it in half and it still made A LOT! I used 1.5 pounds of meatballs and substituted cream of mushroom for cream of celery. I also added fresh cooked mushrooms. It was delicious!!

Really yummy recipe, only changes I made were I used 1 can of Golden Mushroom Soup and 1 can Cream of potato soup as that is what I had on hand instead of the cream of celery soup. Also added some Worcestershire sauce and some water when it became too thick. Really easy and yummy. They are great over the noodles and also for a nice sandwich serve them on a toasted hoagie bun.

Great recipe, my family loved it! I used 2 cans low sodium cream of mushroom and 1 can of French onion. Not salty at all. I also took the advise of other reviewers and added the sour cream just before serving. Definitely a keeper!

Great recipe. Easy to adjust to what you have on hand. This is my second time making it and I only had 2 cans of cr of mushrm soup so used that, didn't have much sour cream so threw in a single serving container of plain greek yogurt along w/the maybe 2/3 cup of sr cream. As well, Today I added a half a chopped onion and a can of small whole mushroom as well as a beef bouillion cube and a splash of chicken stock. Good over egg noodles or mashed potatoes.

I read the reviews and a lot of people didn't like the saltiness of the french onion soup. Some people got sick because it's very greasy and high fat. I modified the recipe: I cut the sauce ingredients in half. I used cream of mushroom instead of celery. I used beef broth instead of french onion. I added 2 tsp onion flakes. reduced fat sour cream. Boiled the (gluten-free) noodles and didn't use any butter. I let the sauce speak for itself. The grease from the meatballs was enough fat. Added parmesan cheese on top.

Easy and quick! Made this half a dozen times now; adding in lots of garlic, parsley and black pepper. I buttered the noddles just a tad to keep them from tasting dry. My husband likes it a lot and our super picky child eats it w/out much whining! I cut the recipe in half and there are leftovers after feeding my hubs and two kids. I serve it with a side of cooked broccoli, peas or green beans.

I loved how easy and simple this recipe was. I used one pound frozen meatballs, one can of each soup, and a quarter cup of sour cream. I dumped it all in a slow cooker (even the frozen meatballs) for 5 hours and added sour cream after I turned off the slow cooker. Served over buttered linguini....yum!

I ended up using this recipe idea as a base to use what I had in the kitchen. I used a can of cream of chicken soup, an envelope of dry onion soup mix, a can of water and 1/2 a cup of plain yogurt. To the gravy I added some frozen peas and cooked carrots. I cooked this all in the microwave early in the morning added the meatballs. The flavors seemed to really blend during the day. It was a hit with the whole family.

Great recipe. If you can't find the onion soup use onion soup powder and beef broth soup. Delicious and easy to make.

This is always in the rotation at my house. I have two teenage boys and I make the 6lb of meatball recipe. Only lasts 2 days 🤣

This recipe super easy. The only thing I change was I made my own meatball out of ground chicken.

Made this for a quick dinner. 350° for 45-55 minutes. Egg noodles. The Hubster and I loved it. A keeper. Adding mushrooms. Lots of them. Maybe a red pepper.
