Cook Time: 10 minutes

Grilled Tilapia with Dill and Chives

Ingredients

This recipe yields 2 servings. Ingredient amounts are automatically adjusted, but cooking times and steps remain the same. Keep in mind that not all recipes scale perfectly.

  • 2 tilapia fillets
  • teaspoon dried dill weed
  • teaspoon kosher salt
  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 10 chives, cut in half
  • 1 tablespoons butter, cut into pieces
  • Heavy-duty aluminum foil

Directions

Step 1: Preheat an outdoor grill to high heat and lightly oil the grate.

Step 2: Tear off 2 large squares of heavy-duty aluminum foil.

Step 3: Place each tilapia fillet on top of a foil square. Season with dill, salt, and freshly ground black pepper.

Step 4: Place 5 chives (cut in half) on top of each fillet, followed by butter pieces.

Step 5: Fold the foil into loose packets, ensuring there is enough space for steam to circulate inside.

Step 6: Place the foil packets on the preheated grill. Cook for 10 to 15 minutes, or until the fish flakes easily with a fork.

Cook's Note:

You can also cook this recipe over charcoal for about 15 minutes for an added smoky flavor.

Fast and simple. Because this sits in foil it doesn't get a good brown on it so it could easily be done in an oven. I stuck my foil packet under the oven broiler for a few to get some color. Flavor wise this is spot on though and would be great for camping.
