Melt-in-Your-Mouth Broiled Salmon Recipe
Ingredients
This recipe was developed at its original yield. Ingredient amounts are automatically adjusted, but cooking times and steps remain unchanged. Note that not all recipes scale perfectly.
- Cooking spray
- 1 clove garlic, chopped
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- cup butter
- cup white wine
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 1 teaspoons dried fines herbes
- 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic salt
- 4 (6 ounce) salmon fillets
- cup chopped fresh dill
Directions
- Gather all ingredients.
- Preheat the oven broiler and set an oven rack about 6 inches from the heat source. Line a jelly roll pan with aluminum foil and spray with nonstick cooking spray.
- Place garlic and olive oil in a small microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on high for 1 minutes.
- In a saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Stir in the garlic mixture from the microwave. Remove from heat and stir in the white wine, Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, fines herbes, black pepper, and garlic salt.
- Place the salmon fillets skin-side down on the prepared pan. Spoon about of the butter sauce over the fillets and evenly sprinkle with fresh dill.
- Broil the salmon in the preheated oven for 3 minutes.
- Turn the fillets so one side is facing up. Baste with about of the butter sauce and broil for an additional 3 minutes.
- Turn the fillets so the opposite side is facing up. Baste with the remaining butter sauce and broil for about 3 more minutes, or until the fillets flake easily with a fork.

Delicious! I concur with another reviewer that it was a bit too oily. To remedy that, I omitted heating the oil and garlic in the microwave (the suggested time led to burning). Instead, I mixed the garlic directly into the butter and skipped the oil altogether. I substituted fine Herbs with a mix of fresh cilantro, parsley, and basil, which worked perfectly. I will definitely be making this dish again!

Rewritten review: I was searching for a Salmon recipe that didn't include soy, and I decided to give this one a try. I followed the recipe using the specified ingredients but opted to reduce the black pepper by two-thirds. I didn't notice any difference by separately preparing the garlic oil and dill, so I just added them to the butter sauce. I encountered some difficulty in flipping the fillets, but that was more due to using wider and larger fillets than the 6oz 'strips' shown in the video. Cooking for 3 minutes on each side was spot on, and the end result was incredibly delicious! Many thanks to Deb Swanson for sharing this fantastic recipe. I'll certainly be making this 'melt in your mouth' Salmon again and again.

I rated this recipe 3 stars because while the base was good, it needed more flavor. To enhance it, I added a touch of liquid honey, opted for lemon pepper instead of regular pepper, incorporated fresh garlic, and sprinkled chervil on top before broiling. I also basted it in a combination of white wine, melted butter, and lemon juice. After cooking, I lightly drizzled the remaining butter mixture, resulting in a delicious dish that received great feedback.

I approximated my measurements and the result was absolutely delicious, my new favorite quick and easy salmon dish. Instead of using the microwave, I started by heating oil in my cast iron skillet on the stovetop and then transferred the whole pan to the broiler (anybody else dislike washing extra dishes?). Like many others, I had to make some minor ingredient substitutions. (Please be understanding, I'm not always perfectly organized when shopping!) I used a mix of dried oregano, parsley, rosemary, and dill for the herbs (dried herbs can handle the high broiling temperature better than fresh ones). I also opted for freeze-dried garlic, which ended up being quite well cooked - almost burnt - so it's not a substitute I would recommend, unless you're in a pinch. It was easy to remove the burnt garlic from my husband's portion, but I actually enjoyed the charred flavor. Thanks for a fantastic recipe!!

One negative review unfairly brought down the average rating of this recipe. In my opinion, the criticism was unwarranted. The recipe calls for a generous amount of oil and butter, using 1 tablespoon of butter and a hefty splash of olive oil. I sautéed garlic with parsley, then broiled the salmon fillet skin side up. When I flipped the fillet, I applied the oil and butter garnish only to the meat side, resulting in a delicious outcome. This dish is both easy to make and extremely tasty.

I absolutely adore this product, but I will decrease the amount I use next time because I had a lot left over.

I made the recipe exactly as directed, except for omitting the dill since I didn't have any on hand. I didn't notice any greasiness at all. The dish turned out just right - tender, moist, and flavorful. I will absolutely be making it again. Thank you!
