Chicken Patties Recipe

Ingredients

  • 18 ounces ground chicken
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1 bunch fresh parsley, finely chopped
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed (or more to taste)
  • Sea salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • cup all-purpose flour (or as needed)
  • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil

Directions

  1. Gather all the ingredients needed for the recipe.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the ground chicken, chopped onion, parsley, egg, crushed garlic, sea salt, and black pepper. Mix well until everything is evenly incorporated.
  3. Add the mayonnaise to the mixture and stir until smooth. The mixture should be quite soft.
  4. Place the flour in a shallow bowl or plate. Take large spoonfuls of the chicken mixture and drop them into the flour, rolling them gently to coat. Press the mixture slightly to form patties.
  5. Heat the vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Once the oil is hot, place the patties in the pan. Cook each patty for 5 to 7 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown and cooked through with no pink in the center.

This is a good recipe but had to tweak a bit so that I used half of the chicken and substituted the other half with minced potatoes. I ran out of mayo so I used heavy cream instead. To make the mixture more stable and not fall apart when placed on the pan, I reduced the flour by half and substituted the other half with cornstarch; these were combined straight into the mixture instead of rolling the mixture on them. I had to set the mixture aside for 5-10 minutes in the fridge to allow the ingredients to bind together, and just before frying I added around 1/2 cup Panko breadcrumbs to add a bit more crunch to it. Turned out great.

I used this as a base recipe, but added a few things along the way. I mixed chopped white mushrooms, red bell pepper, and red onion to my chicken mixture. And instead of just flour, I added italian bread crumbs. Instead of oil, I fried them in garlic herb butter. They came out AMAZING.

This recipe is a hit at our house. I have made it twice. The first time I had ground chicken. The second time I chopped up chicken breast with my Cuisinart. I did make tartar sauce with mayo, lemon juice and lemon pepper and we used that for a topping. I will make again as it is easy and full of protein.

I added one cup of cooked rice to the mixture. Used different seasonings - Mrs. Dash table blend and poultry seasoning, and did use the garlic and onion. I didn't coat them in flour, but made patties and baked them at 375 degrees for about 30 minutes, or until chicken is done and starts to brown. Was really good without all of the oil and flour.

My small town grocery store doesn’t carry ground chicken so I use shredded roasted chicken. I’ve tried both onions raw and sautéed in this and we prefer them sautéed first. The smoke from the roasted chicken and splash of lawrys seasoning in the flour make this a new favorite at our house! Even my very picky 3&7 yr olds eat it all up! We serve it with a dollop of sour cream, potatoes and corn.

I've been making this for years but differently - I use a large can of chicken mashed up with sauted onion, celery, add some dry Colemann's mustard, mayo and cracker crumbs. Also throw in some dry dill, plus salt and pepper. NEXT I BREAD THESE HAND FORMED CAKES /CROQUETTES in some flour before I fry them up. everyone loves them. can't always find ground chicken in g. store

The only difference I made was adding just a little bit of seasoned breadcrumbs to the flour. These came out fantastic and we will definitely be making them in the future in place of the processed frozen patties from the store!

This was too plain for me so I added 1 1/2 Tsp cumin curry paste. I enjoyed them but my husband would have enjoyed them plain.

Really good. Easy to follow. I rarely buy ground chicken, but my local grocery store now has it quite often at an affordable price. I am saving this recipe and will make it again. I don't use as much onion as listed, and added a TBSP of bread crumbs

We enjoyed this very much. I made it to the recipe, but next time might add some spices to make it more 'adult'. My husband says it doesn’t need it, though. I found the raw mix very moist and hard to form into patties. I got the hang of it but it needed more flour to toss it in...v-e-r-y gently! The onion needs to be chopped quite finely too, or it makes them a bit crumbly. Definitely a keeper.

As is just ok, but if you use flour & panko to coat helps. Also, next time we'll add some spices or herbs cause it needs it bad. The taste was ok otherwise so just needs a boost. The worst part & I do mean WORSE is it smells when frying. It reminded me of warming up our old cats wet food to get the chill off. Needed to burn candles & spray the place after eating. With all that said, we do plan on making again though. Oops, forgot we used ground turkey so maybe that is why there was a smell. We didn't have any ground chicken & were in the middle of a blizzard so used the turkey.

This mixture is so sloppy, I found it impossible to form them into patties. Hopefully they will be better after refrigeration or freezing the mix. Or next time, not duplicating eggs with mayonnaise.

Good, easy recipe. Added bit of breadcrumbs as it was really soggy to work with. Also added chopped cilantro, umami seasoning and cumin.

I had a chopped red Bell, pepper, hot sauce, and a few extra spices. Served it with a cilantro cream. It was delicious.

Use Olive Oil, Vegetable Oil is a toxic.
