Easy Baked Chicken Recipe

Easy Baked Chicken Recipe

Cook Time: 30 minutes

This simple and delicious recipe combines juicy chicken breasts with a crunchy, golden crust. It's a quick and easy dish that requires just a few ingredients and can be prepared in under an hour. Perfect for a weeknight dinner!

Ingredients

  • 4 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves
  • 1 cup French dressing
  • 1 cups cornflakes cereal crumbs

Directions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350F (175C). Lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a shallow dish, pour the French dressing for dipping the chicken breasts. In another shallow dish, place the cornflakes cereal crumbs (or breadcrumbs, if you prefer) for coating the chicken.
  3. Dip each chicken breast one by one into the French dressing, making sure it is well-coated. Then, dip it into the cornflakes crumbs, pressing gently to ensure an even coating.
  4. Place the coated chicken breasts in the prepared baking dish, ensuring they are spaced out for even cooking.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the internal temperature of the chicken reaches 165F (74C) when tested with an instant-read thermometer.
  6. Remove from the oven and let the chicken rest for a few minutes before serving.

Cook's Note

If you prefer, you can use crushed cornflakes instead of breadcrumbs for a different texture and flavor.

My family absolutely enjoyed this dish! I didn't have corn flakes on hand, so I followed someone's recommendation and used crushed croutons instead. I also decided to enhance the flavor by adding some Parmesan cheese and a dash of minced garlic to the French dressing. The recipe was simple to make and turned out delicious! I also took the advice of adding a bit more dressing halfway through cooking, and it really elevated the dish. Not only did it taste amazing, but it also looked fantastic.

I used seasoned croutons from the Twisted Ranch Batch #1022, Garlic Smashed Buffalo flavor. Adjusted the recipe by adding 3 1/4 cups of olive oil. The result was delicious!

I am fond of the concept behind this recipe, although like many others, I did not opt for French dressing and found the use of cornflakes outdated. I have prepared this dish twice - once with Caesar dressing and a mixture of breadcrumbs and Parmesan cheese, and another time with a cheese and garlic Italian dressing, along with breadcrumbs mixed with Parmesan. Baked at 360 degrees for 40 minutes, both batches turned out wonderfully moist with delicious flavors. I trust this information is beneficial.

I adjusted this recipe to fit my dietary needs by using 1 cup of non-fat ranch dressing and 1 1/2 cups of non-fat garlic croutons. The result was fantastic.

I follow a similar recipe, but I like to enhance it by including parmesan cheese and a packet of ranch dressing mix (Hidden Valley) in the bread crumbs. This gives it a delicious flavor kick. :) It always impresses the crowd! Thank you for sharing.

I have been preparing this dish without the salad dressing for many years, and it always turns out crispy, juicy, and flavorful. I prefer using cornflake crumbs or breadcrumbs, and I always sprinkle some garlic powder and sometimes dried oregano onto them. I have discovered that the crumbs stick perfectly if the chicken is slightly damp. I like to add a few small dabs of butter or margarine on top before baking at 350 degrees for 40-45 minutes. It's rare to find chicken breasts with the wing attached nowadays, but they do taste wonderful prepared in that manner.

I absolutely adore this recipe! I've been making it for years, although I prefer using Frosted Flakes ...

Absolutely enjoyed it! Perfect for weeknight meals. I used Tostitos Hint of Lime chips, mixed with ranch dressing, olive oil, and crushed black pepper to create a delightful sauce. Served alongside steamed green beans, carrots, chayote, and mashed potatoes. Can't wait to make it again! 😊

Delicious! The more breadcrumbs, the better. I used Club Crackers, and it was incredibly tasty, especially with Italian dressing :)

I cooked this dish so deliciously! I often skip the bread crumbs, but this is my family's favorite way to enjoy chicken legs. It pairs so well with a side salad - simply delightful!
