Kids love it! Quick and easy to make. Peels are nutritious. Very important to boil the water before you add the potatos or it will be too mushy.

Delicious! This is a simple and tasty recipe. Turned out great for my first time making mashed potatoes from scratch! Tweaks: I scaled the recipe up for 5 pounds of potatoes, and the ratios for the butter and sour cream were spot on still. I was hesitant to put that much milk in as I like my potatoes nice and thick so I added it a little at a time, and I only used about 2/3 cup of milk (recipe ratio would have been 1.25 cups) so that's one of those things that doesn't scale linearly. I also scaled up the time that I cooked the potatoes to 30 minutes as I had a lot more potatoes to cook and some of them were kind of large.

I followed other user recommendations and heated the mix-ins before adding to the smashed potatoes. I also added chopped garlic. Next time I make them I will sauté the garlic in the butter to soften a bit. The potatoes were very creamy and delicious. Will definitely add to my side dish rotation.

Stellar!!! I have made these potatoes so many times since finding this recipe!!! The only thing I add is 1 or 2 cloves of minced garlic, and it takes it to the next level!!! I would recommend, while the potatoes are boiling, to heat all other ingredients together in a bowl in the microwave or on the stovetop, so that when they’re added to the potatoes, everything stays nice and hot!! We love these, thanks for the wonderful recipe!!

I tried to make it exactly as called for, except that I had to use full fat Greek yogurt because I didn't have any sour cream. I also had 3 pounds of potatoes, so I scaled the recipe up. We found it to be just a teeny bit too rich for us, which is easily solvable by adding a bit less butter next time. This is a personal preference, not a flaw in the recipe. Keeping in mind also that I did use high quality unsalted Irish butter, so maybe that bumped up the richness factor. I salted my potato water generously and also added some salt near the end to taste. less than 1/2 tsp probably.

Delicious! Did not have any sour creme at hand so I adapted it. Mixed milk, butter, rosemary, garlic, salt and pepper in a small pan over low heat till the butter melted then folded it into the potatoes. WATER MUST BE BOILING BEFORE YOU ADD POTATOES IN! Don’t overcook them.

Sauteed some chopped garlic in a portion of the butter. Excellent recipe!

Actually I loved this receipe! I gave it a 4 because it changed it a bit. I didn't have any sour cream so I warmed 1/2 cup of lite house ranch and 1/2 cup of milk instead + the butter, salt and pepper. I used my kitchen aid with the paddle and added the warmed liquid until I liked the consistancy. I do enjoy to read others additions or changes. Thanks for this receipe!

Mine took about 15 minutes to cook. Not 10. Your time will vary. Good basic recipe. I used heavy cream instead of milk. I also added garlic after cooking and fresh chopped green onions when served.

Super easy and delicious even dairy free. I followed the recipe and used dairy free butter substitute, almond milk and dairy free sour cream!

I made a perfect roast and it meant nothing compared to the potatoes. Everyone said it was their favorite part of the meal, I did however halve and bake them instead.

I added a little 1/2 and 1/2 to almond milk because that’s all I had. It was delicious!!

It was delicious, I had to take off most my peels. They didn’t look too good.

My family, but especially me, loved the chunks of potatoes. Instead of salt and pepper, I used an “Everything” seasoning that we enjoy. Thanks!

This recipe was simple and delicious. Only one change. In stead of regular butter I used garlic butter. Omg it came out perfect.

Terrific taste and texture, paired with Guinness Beef Stew recipe the combination is phenominal. My suggestion is to hold back 10% of the liquid and add as required to make the Mash consistency that you prefer.
