Ingredients
- 4 large baking potatoes, scrubbed
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
- teaspoon garlic powder, or to taste
- teaspoon dried parsley, or to taste
- 4 tablespoons butter
Directions
- Gather all ingredients before you begin.
- Preheat your air fryer to 400F (200C).
- Rub the potatoes with olive oil, then season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and dried parsley.
- Place the seasoned potatoes in the air fryer basket, ensuring they are not overcrowded.
- Cook the potatoes in the preheated air fryer for 40 to 50 minutes, depending on their size, until they are soft and tender.
- Once cooked, slice each potato lengthwise down the center.
- Using your hands, gently pinch both sides of each potato to open it up, allowing the fluffy interior to peek through.
- Top each potato with 1 tablespoon of butter, letting it melt into the warm insides.

If you toss the spuds in the microwave for maybe 3 minutes you can cut 30 minutes off the stated cooking time.

To do this even quicker we microwave the spuds for 3 minutes to get them cooked and then oil them up with spices and put them into the air fryer for 12 minutes at 400ºF to crisp up the skin. Still tasted great and we also added a dollop of sour cream with chives on top.

These turned out good. I cooked mine for a full hour to get a nice crisp on the shell. They've got to be super crisp if I expect the husband to eat the shell. If you haven't tried cooking baked potatoes in the air fryer, you need to. Overall good recipe and one I would make again.

I sauteed half a pound of fresh spinach and garlic cloves in spicy vegetable broth and used that to top off the potatoes instead of butter. The result was delicious

GREAT! Wonderful flavor adding garlic and loved the fluffing tips!! KEEPER! Found a helpful tip – 205° to 210° is done; kept my potatoes from looking like pincushions. Serious Eats by Leah Colins & Jasmine Smith get credit for that tip… but I like how I can save a recipe on All Recipes tho! Love my $7 instant thermometer from Amazon lol. For those of us new to the Multifunctional air fryer, use the air fryer setting! Might seem silly but mine has 8 choices and I read through way too many recipes that did not address this.

I cooked a jumbo-sized potato alongside a sweet potato for my wife. The sweet potato was ready in 40 minutes, but my jumbo spud took an extra 15 minutes and was cooked to perfection. I lined my basket with air fryer parchment to make clean-up easy.

I prepared as suggested sand baked two potatoes in my air fryer (40 min) and one in a potato baker in the microwave (8 min). The taste was very similar, but the air fryer definitely provided the nice restaurant-style crispy peel, which I love.

If you love baked potatoes, this is nice and easy. I use our toaster/air oven fryer and it works great. No need to use the oven.
