I tried this recipe yesterday for Independence Day and it was fantastic! I appreciate being able to adjust the amount of sugar and fat without compromising on flavor. I was initially worried that the canned beans might become mushy during cooking since they were already cooked, but they remained firm. This will definitely become a staple side dish for me.

I just had to try making these baked beans after reading all the rave reviews, and let me tell you, they did not disappoint! My whole family, including my picky kids, couldn't get enough of them. I brought them to a potluck at my church and received nothing but compliments. The best part is how simple they are to make. I improvised a bit by using bacon instead of ham, and regular BBQ sauce with a touch of liquid smoke. The result was absolutely delicious! I wish I could give this recipe more than 5 stars. I'm never going back to canned baked beans again!

I prepared this dish using my preferred BBQ sauce and a combination of white cannellini beans and navy beans, as those were the ones available to me. Initially, the sauce didn't seem to fully coat the beans, so I added extra sauce, which turned out to be just right for our taste. Following the advice of others, I included chopped bacon, frying it with the onion and bell pepper. This recipe is easy to make, delicious, and definitely a dish I will be making again.

Sure, here is a rewritten version of your review: These baked beans are absolutely phenomenal! I have prepared them countless times now and almost have the recipe memorized. Initially, I followed the recipe as is, but over time, I have personalized it to my liking. I start by sautéing peppers, onions, and bacon bits before mixing them in. Oh, and let's not forget the addition of molasses to the sauce. With these tweaks, I could easily enjoy this dish as a main course. It's incredibly delicious! Many thanks for sharing this fantastic recipe!

This recipe helped me win first place for the best side dish at a church BBQ picnic! Following others' advice, I reduced the amount of brown sugar by half. I decided to double all the other ingredients, but I only had one green pepper, so I went with that. Additionally, I swapped out ham for bacon. The dish ended up being delicious without being overly sweet. I am certain that I will be making this recipe again in the future!

The only variation I introduce is bacon. I stir the beans halfway through and incorporate sliced uncooked bacon, letting it cook with the rest for the remaining 4-5 hours.

Followed the recipe but used 15.25 ounces of beans instead of the recommended amount due to availability at the grocery store. Added a bit more ketchup and BBQ sauce to balance out the extra beans. However, we felt that the dish turned out overly sweet. To remedy this, we added a splash of apple cider vinegar which helped cut through the sweetness and transformed the dish into a fantastic culinary experience.

I prepared these for two graduation parties and they turned out absolutely fantastic! I made a few modifications to the recipe and guests were asking me all night about how I made them! Instead of ham, I used bacon and cooked it with the onion before adding it to the bean mixture. I omitted the green peppers and used white kidney beans and northern beans. I tripled the recipe, cooked it on low for 8 hours in my slow cooker, and the outcome was incredibly delicious! I will definitely be making this recipe again and again! :)

Took much less than 8 hours, I'd say 4-6 hours.

Tasty beans! I skipped the peppers and onions and opted for pork 'n beans. This is definitely the way to go.
