Cook Time: 25 minutes

Ingredients

This recipe was created for 4 servings. Adjust quantities as needed, but cooking times remain the same.

  • 1 (16 ounce) package frozen bite-sized potato nuggets (such as Tater Tots)
  • 1/2 cup brown gravy
  • 1/4 cup diced ham
  • 1/4 cup shredded Swiss cheese
  • 1/4 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 3 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 1 teaspoon chopped fresh chives
  • 4 smokey bacon cheddar cheese curds

Directions

Step 1: Preheat your oven to 450F (230C).

Step 2: Spread the potato nuggets evenly on a baking sheet.

Step 3: Bake in the preheated oven for about 20 minutes, until lightly golden and crisp.

Step 4: Remove the nuggets from the oven and layer them with brown gravy, diced ham, Swiss cheese, and Cheddar cheese.

Step 5: Return the baking sheet to the oven and bake for an additional 5 minutes, until the cheese has melted.

Step 6: Sprinkle crumbled bacon and chopped chives over the top.

Step 7: Scatter the smokey bacon cheddar cheese curds around the dish and serve hot.

Tips

  • If you cannot find bacon-flavored cheese curds, plain cheese curds work well too.

My family really liked it! I added chopped onions. Did everything in a cast iron skillet. Tater tots on top.

This was very good. I used an envelope of brown gravy and it worked perfectly. Perfect when hosting at home!

My husband has been wanting to make a poutine recipe for a while now! This was a really great one! Air-fried the tots while made the gravy on the stove. Couldn’t find bacon-flavored curds so used garlic (which was an accidental oops). Layered and baked as instructed; delicious!! Next time, I would add the curds the last min of baking so they too get a smidge softer when serving/eating. Thanks for posting!! Plan to make for Super Bowl!!
