Cook Time: 5 minutes

Ingredients

This recipe was originally developed for its base yield. The ingredient amounts are scaled automatically, but the cooking steps remain unchanged. Please note that not all recipes scale perfectly.

Yield: 4 servings

  • 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1/2 lemon, juiced
  • 1 teaspoon seafood seasoning (such as Old Bay)
  • 1/4 teaspoon white sugar
  • 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined

Directions

  1. Step 1: In a small bowl, whisk together olive oil, lemon juice, seafood seasoning, sugar, cayenne, and a pinch of salt until the marinade is smooth and well blended.
  2. Step 2: Thread the shrimp onto metal skewers. Pat them dry with a paper towel, then brush generously with the marinade. Place in the refrigerator to chill while the grill heats up.
  3. Step 3: Preheat your outdoor grill to medium-high heat. Lightly oil the grate to prevent sticking.
  4. Step 4: Place the shrimp skewers on the hot grill. Cook for 1 to 2 minutes, until the edges just start to turn white.
  5. Step 5: Flip the skewers and continue grilling for another 1 to 2 minutes, until the shrimp are opaque and no longer translucent.
  6. Step 6: Serve the shrimp warm, straight from the grill.

My family absolutely adored this shrimp! It pairs perfectly with grilled steak for a fantastic surf and turf meal. And the best part? It's super simple to make.
