This delicious grilled walleye recipe is simple yet flavorful, perfect for any outdoor gathering. Wrapped in foil and grilled to perfection, the fish is tender, flaky, and infused with a buttery, herby taste. Follow these easy steps for a fantastic meal!

Ingredients

  • 4 (4-ounce) walleye fillets
  • 2 (12-inch) squares of aluminum foil
  • 5 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1 pinch seasoned salt, or to taste
  • 1 pinch garlic and herb seasoning blend (such as Mrs. Dash), or to taste

Directions

Step 1: Preheat your outdoor grill to medium-high heat.

Step 2: Place the walleye fillets, skin-side down, in the center of one square of aluminum foil.

Step 3: Brush the fillets generously with melted butter, ensuring they are well-coated.

Step 4: Sprinkle the seasoned salt and garlic and herb seasoning blend over the fillets, adjusting the amount to your taste.

Step 5: Place the second square of aluminum foil over the fillets, then fold all edges together, sealing the packet securely.

Step 6: Grill the fish on the preheated grill, cooking until the fillets easily flake with a fork, about 7 minutes per side.

Step 7: Carefully remove the foil packet from the grill and open it up. Serve the fish hot and enjoy!

Recipe Tip

You can use any white, flaky fish in place of walleye for this recipe.

I made this tonight 5-5-15, it was quick and easy to make on the grill, had it in the tin foil and on the grill for 15 minutes and it turned out great.

Made it on the grill, tasted great with lemon pepper rub and did surprisingly take 7 min per side!

Really good and easy! Only thing is I would lower the cook time to 10 minutes.

Did not change recipe, other than seasoning (used montreal steak seasoning). 15 minutes on the nose-tasty and moist

Very good, simple campfire food. I found the cook time was at least 5 minutes too long for my fillets and you have to be very careful as the foil package expands with the steam. Otherwise tasty and easy.
