Delicious Baked Pears with Cinnamon Crumble Topping

Original Recipe Yield: 10 servings

Ingredients

  • 6 cups sliced pears
  • cup melted butter (or to taste)
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup

Topping:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour (add more if needed)
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • cup white sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • teaspoon vanilla extract
  • cup softened butter

Directions

  1. Step 1: Gather all your ingredients, ensuring everything is measured and ready to go.
  2. Step 2: Preheat the oven to 375F (190C) and lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  3. Step 3: Spread the sliced pears evenly in the bottom of the prepared baking dish. Drizzle with melted butter and maple syrup.
  4. Step 4: In a separate bowl, mix the flour, brown sugar, white sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and vanilla extract.
  5. Step 5: Add the softened butter to the dry mixture and use a pastry cutter or your fingers to combine it until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. If the mixture is too wet, add more flour until you achieve the right texture.
  6. Step 6: Sprinkle the crumbly topping evenly over the pears.
  7. Step 7: Bake in the preheated oven for about 30 minutes, or until the pears are bubbling and the topping is golden brown and crispy.
  8. Step 8: Remove from the oven and allow it to cool slightly before serving.
