My mother-in-law shared this recipe with me shortly after I married her son. It has since become a beloved favorite among everyone. Instead of self-rising flour, she opted for 1 cup of all-purpose flour and 1 teaspoon of baking powder.

I was initially perplexed when I followed the instructions and found the mixture too crumbly. Thinking I had made an error, I decided to add an extra egg since mine were small and fresh, as well as a splash of milk to adjust the consistency. I also added a touch of cinnamon and nutmeg for flavor. Despite my apprehensions about it being too runny, it turned out perfectly, and my husband thoroughly enjoyed it.

Absolutely loved this recipe! At first, I was a bit skeptical about the dry texture, but once I poured the melted butter on top, everything came together perfectly. I improvised with baking powder and salt since I didn't have self-rising flour, and the topping turned out soft underneath and nicely crispy on the outside—a delightful combination. I used my homemade dehydrated peaches, rehydrated them, and added a hint of their juice, resulting in a fantastic outcome. This dish is a definite repeat for me!

I modified the recipe slightly by incorporating 1/4 cup of whole wheat flour (Red Mill ground) and 3/4 cup of white flour. Instead of fresh peaches, I opted for frozen peach slices and added a sprinkling of cinnamon and sugar on top of the batter, creating a delightful crunchy texture once baked. The result was absolutely delicious! I will definitely be making it again.

Outstanding and exactly what I was looking for. I also included cinnamon, starting with a sprinkle on the fruit and then a mix of cinnamon and sugar on top. I opted for a standard can of peaches and a can of pears. The result was delightful. This dish embodies the classic taste of Southern comfort food, and I am certain I will be making it again very soon.

I used 2 cans of tropical fruit, including the liquid, and mixed in 1/4 cup of brown sugar as per the recipe. The result was absolutely delicious, probably the best I've ever had. I did increase the temperature to 375 degrees and baked it for an extra 7 or 8 minutes in a 9 x 9 metal baking pan. This cobbler recipe has now become my favorite go-to.

This recipe is delicious and simple to make! I followed the assembly instructions as directed, but I added a teaspoon of vanilla extract to the flour mixture, used 3/4 cup of butter, and drained off about half of the juice from the peaches. I believe you could reduce the amount of butter even further. Additionally, I melted the butter in the baking pan beforehand, as I've learned from many recipes that the pan should be hot before adding the ingredients.
