UPDATE: I have continued to bake these amazing cookies and have found some tips to enhance their texture and appearance. It's best to place fewer cookies on the baking sheet to allow them to spread out and crackle more. I also suggest only dipping the tops in sugar to prevent sticking. These are hands down the best cookies I have ever made! I was thrilled to see them beautifully crackled and they tasted absolutely delicious. The inclusion of oil in the recipe gives the dough a unique texture that sets these cookies apart. I increased the amount of cinnamon and ginger, and lightly greased my baking sheets (or used parchment paper) to prevent sticking. Baking them at 350°F for 7 minutes resulted in perfectly soft, crackled, and incredibly tasty cookies!

Absolutely adore these cookies during chilly days! Following recommendations from others, I increased the amount of all spices and included a touch of cayenne for an added punch. Shaped my cookies into 1" balls, coated them in cinnamon sugar, and baked for approximately 10 minutes. They turned out just perfect!

Excellent! I doubled all the spices and included a quarter teaspoon of cayenne pepper along with half a teaspoon of black pepper. I cooked mine for 8 1/2 minutes and they turned out wonderfully crispy. I am extremely satisfied.

I followed the advice to double the spices and chill the dough for about 15 minutes before shaping the dough into balls. The recipe was easy to follow and resulted in deliciously spiced cookies.

These cookies turned out delicious, although I did need to tweak the recipe slightly. I increased the amount of spices by doubling them and reduced the baking temperature to 350 degrees. Baking them at 375 degrees resulted in burnt bottoms. They paired wonderfully with a scoop of vanilla ice cream!

I followed the recipe exactly as written and the flavor was perfect, with just the right amount of crunch. I will definitely be making this recipe again this weekend.

I can't bake these treats fast enough - they're a huge hit with everyone! Whenever I have family visiting, they disappear overnight.

I substituted nutter for vegetable oil and refrigerated the batter for 1 hour before rolling it in coarse sugar.
