Easy Peanut Butter Blossoms Recipe

Easy Peanut Butter Blossoms Recipe

Cook Time: 15 minutes

Peanut butter blossoms are an incredibly simple and delicious treat, made with just four basic ingredients. These budget-friendly, gluten-free cookies are sure to become a favorite, combining the rich flavor of peanut butter with a delightful chocolate kiss center.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cups white sugar, divided
  • 1 (18 ounce) jar smooth peanut butter
  • 2 large eggs
  • 36 milk chocolate candy kisses (such as Hershey's Kisses), unwrapped

Instructions:

Step 1: Preheat your oven to 325F (165C). Prepare a shallow bowl with cup of sugar for rolling the dough balls.

Step 2: In a mixing bowl, combine the peanut butter, 1 cups of sugar, and eggs. Stir well until the mixture is smooth and fully blended.

Step 3: Roll the dough into 36 small balls, about 1 inch in diameter.

Step 4: Roll each ball in the reserved sugar to coat it evenly. Place the sugar-coated dough balls about 1 inch apart on ungreased baking sheets.

Step 5: Bake the cookies in the preheated oven for 12 to 14 minutes. The cookies are done when the edges begin to crack and the bottoms are lightly browned.

Step 6: As soon as you remove the cookies from the oven, press a chocolate kiss into the center of each warm cookie.

Step 7: Let the cookies cool on the baking sheets for 1 to 2 minutes. Then, transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely, about 15 minutes. Once cooled, enjoy!

Storage and Freezing Tips:

To Store: Let the cookies cool completely to ensure the chocolate center stays intact. Place them in an airtight and store at room temperature for up to three days.

To Freeze: You can freeze the unbaked dough balls for up to three months. When you're ready to bake, simply place them on a baking sheet, bake as directed, and press fresh chocolate kisses into the warm cookies.

1.25.17 First batch took about 21 minutes to bake at 325, so I turned up the temp to 350, and they came out at about 14 minutes. A small cookie scoop worked beautifully, and the number of cookies was exactly as indicated in the recipe. The cookies will be VERY soft coming out of the oven, almost falling apart, so do give them a few minutes to firm up a bit on the baking sheet, then transfer with a spatula to a rack, and allow them to cool and dry completely...they will firm up then. I used candy kisses filled with caramel which added one more layer of flavor. The cookie’s texture is a bit chewy, and the candy kiss center is very soft. Very good recipe, I think my husband is heading to the kitchen for another one (maybe two?).

It is an easy cookie for anyone needing to be gluten free. I tweaked it a bit so the flavor profile matches the regular peanut butter blossoms. I used half white sugar and half brown sugar in the dough. I also added a. Couple of tablespoons extra sugar so I could handle the dough with out it sticking. I also added a tsp of vanilla, and 2 tsp of butter flavor. I also want to add 1/4 tsp of salt. I made half batches while I was playing with the recipe. I also baked them at 350 for about 15 to 18 minutes. I liked them about 17 minutes but this depends on the size of your cookie. I used a vollrath purple scoop that I leveled off and got almost 24 cookies.

Learned with the first batch that if you make it with reduced fat peanut butter you will end up with spread out paper cookies. Tried again with normal peanut butter and they were perfect. So easy.

Easy easy easy!! I rolled them in green and red sugar as well and they look great. I used a small cookie scoop so it made 40 cookies. Not dry at all and great peanut butter flavor.

I was looking for a peanut butter blossoms recipe that didn't use shortning and I came across this one. I'm so glad I did! I like this one better than the typical recipe. I followed the recipe except my jar of peanut butter wasn't completely full so I cut back on the sugar a bit. I baked for 14 minutes. Perfect!

I thought these cookies were very good. They did flatten a lot, though, so after my 1st pan I cooled the cookies in the refrigerator for a few minutes before baking. That seemed to help. I would also recommend you make them small. Will definitely make more than 36.

Such a fun and easy recipe to make with my granddaughter. I used a small cookie scoop and got 45 cookies plus a little more dough left for her to be creative (hearts, words, etc). The timing was still 14 minutes. We carried these to a family dinner and almost all were eaten. Everyone loved them!
