Cheesy Chicken Wraps Recipe

Cheesy Chicken Wraps Recipe

Cook Time: 20 minutes

Chicken Crescent Rolls

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound skinless, boneless chicken breast halves
  • 1 cups shredded Monterey Jack cheese
  • 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 (8 ounce) package refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter, or as needed

Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350F (175C) and grease a baking sheet.
  2. Place chicken breasts into a large pot and cover with salted water by several inches. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to medium and simmer for 15-20 minutes, or until the chicken is no longer pink in the center and the juices run clear. An instant-read thermometer should read at least 165F (74C).
  3. Remove the chicken from the pot and let it cool. Once cooled, shred the chicken using two forks.
  4. In a large bowl, combine the shredded Monterey Jack cheese, Cheddar cheese, cream cheese, salt, and pepper. Mix thoroughly.
  5. Add the shredded chicken into the cheese mixture and stir until well combined.
  6. Separate the crescent roll dough and lay each piece flat on a work surface. Spread the chicken and cheese mixture onto each piece of dough.
  7. Roll each piece of dough into crescent roll shapes and place them onto the prepared baking sheet.
  8. Brush the crescent rolls with melted butter.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the rolls are golden brown.

This is an oldie at our house. The recipe was given to me as a wedding gift over 40 years ago. I add chopped celery, onions and sliced mushrooms to the chicken mixture. It gives it flavor and a nice crunch. I leave out the shredded cheese, though now I will have to try it. I roll up the chicken mixture in the crescent roll and then baste with butter and dredge it in crushed Italian croutons, then bake as directed. Cover with chicken gravy and it's an elegant dinner. We call it "Chicken Pillows" our neighbor calls them "Chicken Coquettes." The cold left over buns, if there ever are any, never last beyond breakfast the next day. It's a family favorite and everyone of my 4 kids knows how to make them and they serve them to their own families now.

These were delicious and easy! My only advice is to start checking them around 15 minutes, because mine were done around then.

I like to use a Rotisserie Chicken for this. Always tender and easy!

The recipe, as written, was a great starting point!! I used rotisserie chicken, cream cheese, sour cream, bacon, bacon grease, cheddar cheese and green onion all mixed together. Wrapped it in some grands biscuit dough, pinched together the edges, brushed on melted butter and cooked for about 16 minutes. The results were surprisingly tasty, warm and flaky! I'll make them again.

Mix a bit of chopped green onion, a pinch of garlic powder, and a packet of dry ranch seasoning into the cheese mixture. Top the melted butter with poppy seeds and sprinkle with additional chopped green onion. Spectacular with these additions.

I made this recipe for dinner just for my husband and I. It was easy to pull together and was very tasty. I used chicken that I had baked the night before. It had been coated with bread crumbs and panko crumbs. That’s the only difference I made. I would definitely make these again. Easy and fun.

This is more of a starting point towards making something good. The recipe as is, only had the flavors of the croissant and cream cheese. Needs maybe some garlic powder, onion powder and maybe ranch powder. Will try it again, just with seasonings.

I was disappointed that there was very little flavor.

Won’t make again. I tried like others to season it up more but very bland and not at all what I expected :(

Crescent Rolls are too small to hold very much of the mixture. Next time I’ll try to make them after using rolling pin on dough, this is a great recipe.

My favorite chicken recipe. They don't last wrong around the grandkids. I use them for a healthier snack.

I made this exactly like the recipe stated. I'll make this again. It was very good. I served this with rice and a green salad. Great dinner idea.

Quick & easy to make. Flavor is a bit "blah." Needs something added for more of a kick, but it was good dipped in ranch.
