Amazing Garlic Chicken Livers Recipe

Amazing Garlic Chicken Livers Recipe

Cook Time: 5 minutes

Ingredients

This recipe was created for the original yield of 4 servings. Ingredient quantities adjust automatically, but cooking times and steps remain the same. Scaling may affect results.

  • 1 pound chicken livers, rinsed, trimmed, and patted dry
  • 1 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons fresh lemon juice
  • teaspoon salt, or to taste
  • 6 cloves garlic, finely minced

Directions

Step 1: Preheat a skillet over medium heat without any oil. Once hot, add the chicken livers and cook, stirring occasionally, until they are fully cooked but still tender, about 3 to 5 minutes.

Step 2: Reduce the heat slightly. Drizzle the olive oil and lemon juice over the livers, add the salt, and gently toss so every piece is coated evenly.

Step 3: Remove the skillet from the heat. Sprinkle the minced garlic over the livers and allow the residual heat to release its aroma and flavor.

Recipe Tips

  • Using the dry-fry method prevents browning, keeping the livers exceptionally soft and melt-in-your-mouth tender.
  • Extra virgin olive oil can be used, but its strong flavor may overshadow the delicate taste of the dish.

This recipe was fantastic and so simple to make. Taking inspiration from a fellow reviewer, I sautéed the livers with garlic to enhance the flavor without overpowering it. I decided to throw in some green onions as well. Such a delightful and rejuvenating twist on preparing livers. Yum!

Extremely simple and incredibly tender – appearance may not be top-notch, but that's irrelevant when the taste is this good! I mixed garlic with oil and lemon, then drizzled it over the livers for the final 2 minutes to let the garlic infuse. The result was absolutely delicious!

I found that by not browning the livers, they lacked appeal in terms of both appearance and taste. However, after browning the leftovers the next day, the dish improved significantly. The excessive amount of raw garlic, although I love garlic, was also a bit strange. While I see that many people enjoyed this recipe, I personally found it to be not to my liking at all. This is the first negative review I have ever given for a recipe, and I generally have a broad palate.

I followed the recipe exactly, but I really didn't enjoy the addition of lemon, even though I used less than called for. It took me longer than the stated 5 minutes to cook, but overall, it was an easy and quick recipe to put together. I ended up adding extra garlic because I'm a huge fan of garlic. I'll definitely make it again, but next time, I'll skip the lemon.
