Easy Pepperoni Pizza Muffins Recipe

Easy Pepperoni Pizza Muffins Recipe

Cook Time: 10 minutes

Mini Pizza Muffins

Ingredients

  • 1 (10 ounce) can refrigerated buttermilk biscuit dough
  • 10 tablespoons pizza sauce (such as Ragu Homestyle)
  • 10 slices pepperoni
  • 10 tablespoons shredded mozzarella cheese, or as needed
  • Cooking spray

Directions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425F (220C). Lightly coat a 10-cup muffin tin with cooking spray.
  2. Flatten each biscuit one at a time by pressing between your hands. Then, press each biscuit into the bottom and up the sides of a muffin cup.
  3. Let the dough settle and slightly rise for about 5 minutes. If necessary, gently press the dough further into the cups.
  4. Take 1 tablespoon of pizza sauce and spoon it into each muffin cup, followed by 1 slice of pepperoni and 1 tablespoon of shredded mozzarella cheese.
  5. Place the muffin tin in the preheated oven and bake for around 10 minutes, or until the dough is lightly browned and the cheese has melted.
  6. Once done, carefully remove the pizza muffins from the tin and let them cool on a wire rack for about 5 minutes before serving.

This was a fun and easy meal for the kids. However, it was very heavy on the bread. Next time, I would split the muffins in half. That way you make 20 and it tastes more pizza-y and less biscuit-y.

Instead of biscuit dough I used the can pizza dough. It cuts down on the " bread" overload. I use silicone baking cups and don't need to spray the cups. Add cooked mushrooms, chopped salami or pepperoni, diced cooked green peppers or whatever you want.

These were Delicious little bites! I split the biscuits into 3 so I got 24 little pizzas. Not too bready. My grand daughter and I made these for "movie night". We put 1 slice of pepperoni on hers, and 1 slice of mushroom and 1 slice of pepperoni on ours. The mushroom and pepperoni were the best! I made Chef John's homemade pizza sauce from this site. The only problem was that I had a terrible time getting these out of the muffin pans. I sprayed liberally with Pam olive oil. Any suggestions? I ate way too many of these, so yummy!

Could not find muffin tin, so I improvised. I flattened each biscuit into a 5 to 6 inch round, added sauce, mushrooms, pepperoni, chopped onion and fresh mozzarella. Baked for about 13 minutes at 400. My daughter and husband loved them, said they were better than frozen pizza!

These were great and easy. I used frozen biscuits and partially cooked them and then added all the stuffing and finished baking. My kids loved them!

According to every child in my house, these are delicious! I’ve made them several times using different pizza toppings. I’ve made them using Pillsbury regular biscuits and also with Pillsbury Grands Flaky Layers Butter Tastin’ biscuits. The Grands win hands down. If you use the Grands, I recommend splitting them in half because they’re so large - plus you get more of them. :) These are easy to tailor for a household full of different preferences - some just cheese, some pepperoni and some meat lovers. The kids can easily help. What parent doesn’t love an easy dinner? It’s a go to for sure. Thank you for sharing!

I made these for my bunco group and everyone loved them. I baked the biscuits for about 8 minutes before filling them with the ingredients. I think that helped them from being too doughy. I used the larger muffin pans and put more sauce, pepperoni, and cheese. I also brushed the edges with melted garlic powder and butter. I also added some italian seasoning and garlic salt in the sauce.

These were so simple, easy and delicious! I was asked to bring an appetizer for Mother's Day and being 9 months pregnant I really did not feel like being in the kitchen that day. I saw this recipe in the magazine and decided to try it. SO glad I did!! Everyone loved them. I cut the biscuits in half after reading other reviews and omitted the pepperoni (only because I did not have any). I filled each biscuit cup with chunky marinara sauce baked them for 10 minutes then topped them with grated mozzarella and baked them for another 3 minutes until the cheese melted. Perfect! Definitely will be making these again! The addition of your favorite pizza options are endless for a customized appetizer.

These were delicious! We used one package of flaky layered biscuit dough and it worked well. We used about half of the biscuit and then stretched them to fit in the muffin pan. We also added more pepperoni layered in between two layers of sprinkled cheese. Next time we'll use some more pizza sauce. It's important to let them cool, otherwise you could burn your mouth (my boyfriend learned the hard way).

I used the Pillsbury pizza crust in the can and I didn't care for the taste, and I used a tsp of sauce instead of a tbl sp, and I ended up using some sauce from the jar to dip them in lol and I added a small pinch of nature's seasoning to the cheese and I think I may have overcooked them.. they weren't burnt, just kinda too hard to bite. But it was really easy to make, my 5 year old granddaughter helped lol I will definitely try it one more time with croissant dough 😋 oh.. I made half with pepperoni and half with just cheese

These are good. Definitely reduce the amount of dough or the taste of the toppings is lost. I used two coin sized pepperoni in each but would use a few more toppings next time. I didn't have any store bought biscuits so I made a batch of of home made buttermilk biscuits and they were great. Half of them got baked as regular honey butter topped buttermilk biscuits and the rest for this recipe so it was perfect!

Added pizza sprinkle spice from Trader Joe’s for the win! Yummy!

I used a biscuit recipe from an old cookbook that my mother gave to me and I added garlic powder and Parmesan to the dough. I also used homemade marinara sauce. It came out to be an addictive little treat that I can’t wait to use for our Fourth of July gathering!

I made my home vegan dough/crust. Used vegan cheeses, vegan pizza sauce (passata) used vegan pepperoni. To make it less of a biscuit taste I used more cheese, vegan pizza sauce, and added veggies to make it have that pizza taste. I made vegan style butter milk dough for the second pizza I made.

I used a Jiffy pizza crust mix and got 8 muffins. They turned out perfect.

I loved this recipe because it so easy to make. I didn't have premade biscuit dough, so I made my own. My grandson enjoyed helping with the prep of the pizza muffins. I will definitely make this again.
