I was teaching school in Asheville, North Carolina right out of college in 1978. A colleague brought these to our faculty Christmas party and without knowing that a green olive (which I didn't care for at the time) was tucked inside, I bit into one. I was HOOKED! I was pregnant with my first child at the time and almost 46 years later, these are HER favorite Christmas appetizer of which I prepare and freeze at least 100 every year. Delicious!!
