Ingredients

  • cup shortening (such as Crisco)
  • 1 cup milk

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 450F (230C). Lightly grease a baking sheet.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Cut in the shortening until the mixture resembles pea-sized lumps.
  4. Pour in the milk and stir until the dry ingredients are fully absorbed.
  5. Using a spoon, drop heaping amounts of dough onto the prepared baking sheet.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 12 to 15 minutes or until the biscuits turn golden brown.
