Soft inside and crunchy outside, according to Diane. The cheese was just perfect. I didn't have a pastry brush, so I just dipped each as they came out of the oven. Sprinkled Old Bay seasoning after dipping in butter sauce.
The best, says Margaret McAden (Maggie). Just like Red Lobster biscuits.

I have always wanted to replicate the garlic-cheese biscuits from one of my favorit restaurants and now I can! I followed other reviewers advice and doubled the cheese (about 1 cup) as well as adding 1 tsp. of garlic, 1/4 tsp. onion powder and about 1/2 tsp. of dried parsley to the biscuit batter. In the butter, I added the called for amounts of garlic and onion powder, increased the parsley to 1/2 tsp (love the color and flavor) and omitted the salt. I used baking spray rather than parchment paper and took advice from another reviewer and brushed the biscuits with the butter and popped them back in the oven for a few minutes. Next time I will most likely increase the amount of garlic a bit and maybe make 1/2 a batch as these are hard to resist (I don't believe it's very kind to my waist line!) Thanks Cookie...and also, would you happen to have the restaurant recipe for the blackened fish spice blend??? Yummy!

Wonderful biscuits! For this recipe alone I have become one of "those" reviewers ~ I am rating this recipe on changes made before trying the original. I know, I know, shame on me! I am only doing so as I had items in the fridge that I needed to use up! Based on other reviews, I added the garlic and onion powder, parsley and 1/4 tsp of Old Bay seasoning to the mix. In place of the water, I used buttermilk which makes a more flavorful biscuit. As soon as the biscuits were done, I brushed the butter mixture (plus chives for color) on top of the biscuits and popped them back into the oven for about 2 minutes. Full of flavor, easy to make with ingredients usually found in any cooks kitchen! 5 Stars!

Delicious! I followed others suggestions.: I doubled the cheese (I shredded the cheese myself - didn't buy already shredded). I mixed the garlic powder, salt , onion powder & parsley into the batter. I put the biscuits back in the oven for a couple of minute after brushing them with butter

I mixed all dry ingredients together, used 1/2 cup butter, 3/4 cup greek yogurt, and 1/2 cup water for the wet ingredients. Texture turned out smooth and soft like no biscuit i have ever had before.

Took the advice of other reviewers and used milked instead of water, upped the cheese to 1 cup (maybe could have used a little more & only mixed the dough enough to combine. Also added more seasoning ...to the batter 1 tsp garlic powder, 1 tsp dried parsley, 1/4 tsp salt, 1/4 tsp onion powder and a little old bay seasoning. I also added 1/4 tsp to the butter mixture.

I made these according to the recipe directions and they were delicious. The 1 1/3 cups of water was a little too much for the 4 cups of biscuit mix and I had to sprinkle in some extra mix to make the dough stop being sticky and turn soft and pliable. I would recommend changing the recipe to say add water until the dough forms. I would also go so far as to make extra garlic butter for dipping the biscuits, because it was so good.

As written I'd give these a three. I followed several reviewers' suggestions and added Old Bay to the mix, as well as adding the seasonings not only to the butter but also to the biscuit mix and using milk instead of water. Most of that did vastly improve on the initial recipe, though please do yourself a favor and don't add the Old Bay. These also really need more cheese- I weighed out the shredded cheese and it didn't seem like enough to me, but I didn't notice many mentions of that in the previous reviews so I didn't add more. I should have. For a full batch of these biscuits I would have added 2 full cups of sharp cheddar cheese to the biscuit mix and another 1/2 to 3/4 cup sprinkled over the top before baking.

Really good and really easy...my kind of recipe. I did not read the recipe completely and added the garlic and onion powder into the baking mix...oops. Added the correct amount of garlic and onion powder to melted butter and it was quite savory. So the extra worked out very well. Thanks for the recipe

This is a simple delicious recipe. Easy to make. I used bisquick instead of self-rising flour. I added the old bay seasoning to the dry mixture. I also used half milk and half water for the liquid. I melted the butter in the milk and water in the microwave. Easy peasy!! Will make again!

To make these taste like Red Lobster Cheddar Bay Biscuits, cut one stick of COLD butter into the dry biscuit mix, leaving pea-sized pieces of butter, and add the remaining ingredients being careful not to overmix. When it bakes that butter melts and leaves an airy light biscuit. Still make the buttery topping, and put over the warm biscuits.

My Great Value baking mix made the biscuits awful, what a fail for my family for their Easter dinner. I will look for a recipe with flour, baking powder, etc., and never again use a mix.

These were nice enough. I did a half batch and I think they needed cooking more than the recipe calls for, but aside from that they were tasty and the family enjoyed them.

These are excellent. I sometimes top chicken pot pie with them instead of pastry. For best results, I make them the size and shape of my casserole dish, bake them on parchment as directed. Then I heat the pot pie in the casserole, place the large “biscuit” on top just before serving so it’s not too doughy. These biscuits are definitely best eaten fresh.

I've been making these before they sold the red lobster box in grocery stores. If you follow this recipe, you will get the best copycat biscuits ever. I cut it in half bcuz I cook for only 3. But it's a hit every single time. Thanks for sharing this with everyone! Super easy to make!! Great for beginners in the kitchen!!
