I made this as a topping for French Toast for Sunday breakfast. This is quite sweet, even when using Granny Smith apples. I could probably get away with using half the amount of brown sugar next time. As is, there were no leftovers.

So I did this with a twist, I cooked them in my well-seasoned cast iron skillet with peaches and plums thrown in too. It took on a slightly savory aftertaste and I’d highly recommend it! It would go really well with some lamb chops the way mine came out.

I wanted something to go with homemade cinnamon ice cream. This fit the bill! It is like apple pie without the crust (perfect for company with gluten issues ) and didn't have to turn on the oven. I used this recipe for inspiration -- 10 Granny Smith apples, 1/8 cup ghee (clarified butter), maple syrup, cinnamon, and apple pie spice to taste. This would also be great in oatmeal.

So good! My family and I went apple picking at a you pick orchard, and we had a lot of apples. As a result some were starting to soften, so I used those to make this recipe! It was delicious! I added some vanilla and also sprinkled with cinnamon and sugar. We ate the apples over vanilla ice cream! Definitely recommend!

Only thing is I added 1/4 cup of water because my apples were dry. I halved this recipe with no problem. Will make again.

This recipe is delicious over ice cream with apple crumble or apple pie for those having problems with the sweetness and the consistency make a slurry with 1/4 cups of water and 1/2 teaspoons of flour and add after the apples have cooked for 15 minutes stir it in and cook them for 5 more minutes i also added a teaspoon of vanilla and cinnamon at the end

This was very good. The family really loved it. I made the following adjustments I tossed the apples in 1 TBLS corn starch and added a dash of cloves. Otherwise, I followed the recipe. Absolutely delicious and had a perfect cinnamon caramel sauce. Thank you for such a quick and easy recipe.

Gave it a 5 star but I would agree the butter to brown sugar ratio is off, I feel it should be equal portions but that is going to be a personal preference for anyone trying this recipe. I made this for overnight oats. I only had 2 apples but wanted a good coating because I was using them for overnight oats so used 3 tbls butter and 3 tbls brown sugar, I also added a pinch of salt.

Great recipe! Tip for people making this that said it was too sweet: cutting back sugar helps, but I always add key lime juice to my apples for pie. That gives some additional tartness that we love. If out of that fresh lemon juice works too.

I used less apples but still used the correct amount of seasoning. It tasted to me like it still needed more seasoning even with less apples. I also needed a lot more butter & it took longer for the apples to cook than the recipe said. Other than that the apples were terrific. Next time I will double it or maybe even triple the seasoning amounts

I have made this recipe repeatedly and my husband loves loves loves it. What I do though is substitute the nutmeg for pumpkin spice and it still comes out delicious. He eats them cold or hot depending on his mood.

I think it's good!!!! Yummy.... Only changes I made was I added a little more cinnamon and two or three tablespoons of amaretto and let it marinate for a couple hours.

Really good for such a simple recipe. The only change that I made was to cut back the sugar.
