Roasted Turnips Recipe

Servings: 4

Ingredients:

  • 1 pounds turnips
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • teaspoon dried thyme
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • Chopped fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Directions:

  1. Step 1: Preheat the oven to 400F (200C).
  2. Step 2: Peel and trim the turnips. Cut them into 1-1/4 inch pieces and place them into a bowl.
  3. Step 3: Drizzle the turnips with olive oil and season with thyme, salt, and pepper. Toss well until the turnips are fully coated.
  4. Step 4: Spread the turnips out in a single layer on a large baking sheet.
  5. Step 5: Roast the turnips for 15 minutes. Then, turn them over and continue roasting for another 10 to 15 minutes, or until they are fork-tender and lightly browned.

These turnips were absolutely delicious! After trying them, I can't imagine eating turnips prepared any other way.
