Absolutely mouthwatering. The secret to this recipe is the use of sweetened coconut, which perfectly balances the tartness of the fruit and sour cream. The flavors only improve with time, if you have the patience to let it chill and develop.

I have been preparing this salad for as long as I can recall. We include diced banana pieces, opt for crushed pineapple over chunk pineapple, and skip the coconut. It's essential to prepare it 24 hours in advance to let the flavors blend. Absolutely tasty!! Super easy to make.

After reading a negative review, I realized a few adjustments were necessary when preparing this recipe. If you can't refrigerate the salad overnight for 24 hours, it's best to skip making it. Make sure to drain the canned fruit thoroughly. I prefer using less sour cream than recommended, just enough to coat all the ingredients before chilling overnight. I absolutely love it!

Simple and convenient to prepare ahead of time. I used unsweetened coconut and added a small amount of sugar. My in-laws prefer including chopped walnuts and occasional vanilla extract. Start by combining sour cream and coconut, then gently fold in the rest of the ingredients. It's effortless to assemble and refrigerate for a few days before serving, adding marshmallows 24 hours before. I plan to make it again. While this recipe may not please everyone, I personally found it enjoyable.

Oh. My. Goodness. My mom has been making this salad for years, but our 5-cup salad actually contains six cups... the five mentioned above plus 1 cup of chopped pecans. It is absolutely heavenly. This addition is the only thing that could make this recipe even better. Just make sure to drain your fruit really well!

This salad holds a special place in my heart as it has been a cherished tradition in my family for Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners. Known as the 24 Hour Salad, it requires resting for a full day before serving. My mother used to quarter full-sized marshmallows instead of minis, believing they softened more thoroughly, although I haven't noticed a significant difference. Nowadays, I substitute pineapple Greek yogurt for the sour cream, as I found that coconut yogurt didn't quite measure up. Don't forget to give it a good stir before serving to ensure the fruit juices are evenly distributed and not settled at the bottom of the container.

Absolutely adore this salad! I like to put my own twist on it by using a mixture of 1/2 cup sour cream and 1/2 cup Cool Whip. I also throw in some halved maraschino cherries for a pop of color. It turns out absolutely delicious!

I recall my grandmother and mother preparing this dish, and they have both passed away. Feeling unwell, I craved it and decided to make it myself. Thank you for sharing the recipe and bringing back such precious memories.

Delicious! It brought back memories of my mom's cooking. It disappeared in no time as everyone enjoyed it. Definitely will be making it again!
