Steamed Broccoli and Carrots with Lemon and Seasoned Salt
This simple and healthy dish features steamed broccoli and carrots, seasoned with a fresh burst of lemon juice and your choice of seasoned salt. Its a quick and easy way to enjoy vibrant, nutrient-packed vegetables.
Ingredients
- 1 cup broccoli florets
- cup julienne-cut carrots
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon seasoned salt, or to taste
Directions
Step 1: Place a steamer insert into a saucepan, then fill the pan with water just below the bottom of the steamer. Bring the water to a boil.
Step 2: Once the water is boiling, add the broccoli florets and julienne carrots to the steamer. Cover the pan and steam the vegetables until they are tender, about 5 minutes.
Step 3: Transfer the steamed vegetables to a bowl. Add the lemon juice and seasoned salt, then toss everything gently to coat the vegetables evenly.

I had to prepare a large salad for Thanksgiving, so I decided to blanch the broccoli to save time. The result was fantastic! Next time, I would skip the lemon though.
