This is the way I like tuna salad: nice and simple. I do like to add a little onion powder though; to me its more mellow and doesn't overpower the tuna like raw onion does. I also add 1/2 tsp brown mustard for a very slight tang, a pinch of salt, and fresh ground black pepper to taste. You could eat it right away, but it gets even better if you refrigerate overnight to let the flavors come together. I have bypassed many a tuna salad because it had raw onions and celery in it. And don't get me started on chopped hard boiled eggs...

I love simple, but tasty. If time permits, I add a smashed boiled egg to this. I've learned over the years that most people I cook for prefer simple over spicey. Thanks for sharing!

This is a classic and no fail recipe. Sometimes I use half miracle whip and half real mayo, so its not so sweet. When I have a little more time to prepare it, I add chopped celery, and chopped hard boiled egg. My mom likes to add chopped apple.

Quick and easy lunch. I followed recipe as stated. I tasted and then sprinkled in paparika, garlic and onion powder. Tastes better after being chilled. I have also made this using low-fat ranch dressing. In the summer I will use this to stuff a garden fresh tomato!

I add a boiled egg, with garlic powder, minced onion, a sprinkle of salt & pepper and little sugar. A delicious recipe.

This was my first time using relish in tuna salad and it wasn't bad. I added a little garlic and onion powder along with some salt and cracked black pepper. The relish definitely gave it a different taste.

This is basic for when you are in a hurry. I make mine the same way, but add some chopped onion, a dash of Worchester sauce, a dash of Old Bay seafood seasoning, a dash of mustard, and a dash of creamy ranch salad dressing combined with the mayo, and a couple of twists of the pepper mill. Takes just a little longer to make, but the taste is superior.

I also add peeled and chopped apple, a hard boiled egg and chopped green onion. Yummy.

Quick and simple! I grew up on this style, so I learned that I prefer a sweet to a savory tuna salad. If I want to dress it up, I’ll double the recipe, chop up a half an apple in 1/4 inch bits and mix it in and if I’m feeding more people, I’ll add a chopped up hard boiled egg or two!

I love simple recipes and this one is good anyway you want to fix it. My Mother showed me how to give it a different flavor by adding garden peas (fresh) or frozen garden peas. The canned peas tend to get mushy. Also boiled egg and celery. Yum!

I make this all the time. I add my own seasonings including a little mustard.

I make something similar with a can of sardines. Family doesn't know the difference and I prefer smaller fish, less chance of toxicity. I like to add celery Seed (not celery salt) if not adding diced celery.

This is just the very basic tuna salad. My mom always started with those 3 ingredients, but added eggs and celery or celery salt and usually finely chopped onions and sometimes some paprika.

However, I would like to replace the pickle relish with honey mustard (my fav!)

I could live on tuna. My favorite way is sashimi (raw) with Ponzu sauce, a little Wasabi and pickled Ginger. If the tuna steak is frozen then defrosted it's safe to eat raw. It melts in your mouth. Anyway, back to the tuna salad. I prefer Dill relish and a chopped boiled egg is easy for me because we boil a dozen at a time. Often I add diced celery for the crunch, then a 1/4 tsp ground fennel. I like to stuff a nice tomato with it.
