Cook Time: 15 minutes

Ingredients

This recipe was developed at its original yield. Ingredient amounts are automatically adjusted, but cooking times and steps remain unchanged. Note that not all recipes scale perfectly. The original recipe (1X) yields 8 servings.

  • 1 pound bacon
  • 4 cups broccoli florets
  • 5 green onions, chopped
  • cup sunflower seeds
  • cup golden raisins
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • cup white sugar
  • 6 tablespoons red wine vinegar

Directions

Step 1: Place bacon in a large skillet. Cook over medium-high heat until evenly browned. Once cooked, remove from heat, allow it to cool, then crumble the bacon into small pieces and set aside.

Step 2: In a large bowl, toss together the broccoli florets, chopped green onions, sunflower seeds, golden raisins, and the crumbled bacon.

Step 3: In a separate small bowl, combine the mayonnaise, white sugar, and red wine vinegar. Stir well until the sugar is fully dissolved and the mixture is smooth.

Step 4: Pour the dressing over the vegetables and bacon mixture. Toss everything together to ensure the ingredients are evenly coated with the dressing.

Step 5: Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least an hour before serving. This will allow the flavors to meld together and enhance the taste.
