Air Fryer Prosciutto and Mozzarella Grilled Cheese Recipe

Air Fryer Prosciutto and Mozzarella Grilled Cheese Recipe

Cook Time: 10 minutes

Ingredients

This recipe was developed at its original yield. Ingredient amounts are automatically adjusted, but cooking times and steps remain unchanged. Note that not all recipes scale perfectly.

  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 slices sourdough bread
  • 2 ounces prosciutto
  • 3 ounces fresh mozzarella, cut into 1/4-inch slices

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 360F (180C).
  2. Butter one side of a slice of bread and place it on a plate, buttered side down. Evenly top with prosciutto and mozzarella slices.
  3. Butter the second slice of bread and place it on top, keeping the buttered side facing out.
  4. Place the sandwich in the air fryer and cook for about 8 minutes, or until lightly browned and toasted.
  5. If the top slice of the sandwich doesn't stay in place due to the air circulation, use toothpicks to secure the corners.
  6. If your air fryer isn't browning evenly, flip the sandwich halfway through cooking.

Cook's Notes

Prosciutto becomes saltier as it cooks, so be sure to use a thin layer to avoid overpowering the sandwich. Another variation to try is using Brie and speck, or you can stick to a classic choice like American cheese.
