Air Fryer Prosciutto and Mozzarella Grilled Cheese Recipe
Cook Time: 10 minutes
Ingredients
This recipe was developed at its original yield. Ingredient amounts are automatically adjusted, but cooking times and steps remain unchanged. Note that not all recipes scale perfectly.
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
- 2 slices sourdough bread
- 2 ounces prosciutto
- 3 ounces fresh mozzarella, cut into 1/4-inch slices
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 360F (180C).
- Butter one side of a slice of bread and place it on a plate, buttered side down. Evenly top with prosciutto and mozzarella slices.
- Butter the second slice of bread and place it on top, keeping the buttered side facing out.
- Place the sandwich in the air fryer and cook for about 8 minutes, or until lightly browned and toasted.
- If the top slice of the sandwich doesn't stay in place due to the air circulation, use toothpicks to secure the corners.
- If your air fryer isn't browning evenly, flip the sandwich halfway through cooking.
Cook's Notes
Prosciutto becomes saltier as it cooks, so be sure to use a thin layer to avoid overpowering the sandwich. Another variation to try is using Brie and speck, or you can stick to a classic choice like American cheese.
