Kisses Peppermint Brownie Drops Recipe

Kisses Peppermint Brownie Drops Recipe

Cook Time: 10 minutes

Servings: 48

Ingredients

  • 1 (15.25-ounce) package brownie mix with syrup pouch (for 13x9-inch pan)
  • 1/4 cup Hershey's cocoa powder
  • 1/4 cup finely crushed peppermint candies
  • 2 tablespoons Hershey's chocolate syrup (from syrup pouch)
  • 3 tablespoons water
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1/3 cup powdered sugar for rolling
  • 48 Hershey's Kisses Milk Chocolates or Hershey's Kisses Candy Cane Candies

Directions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the brownie mix, cocoa powder, and crushed peppermint candies.
  2. Stir in the contents of the syrup pouch, water, egg, and vegetable oil. Mix until smooth and well blended.
  3. Refrigerate the dough for about 1 hour, or until firm enough to roll into balls.
  4. Preheat the oven to 350F (175C). Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
  5. Unwrap the Hershey's Kisses and set them aside.
  6. Once the dough is chilled, scoop out small portions and roll them into 1-inch balls.
  7. Roll each dough ball in powdered sugar to coat evenly, then place the balls onto the prepared cookie sheet.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 9 to 11 minutes, or until the cookies are set.
  9. After baking, cool the cookies on the sheet for 2 minutes.
  10. Press a Hershey's Kiss into the center of each cookie while still warm.
  11. Transfer the cookies to a wire rack to cool completely, either by sliding the parchment paper with the cookies or removing them directly from the sheet.

Recipe Tip

During baking, some of the peppermint may melt out along the edges. After removing the cookies from the oven, immediately use the edge of a knife or spatula to gently push the melted peppermint back into the edges of the cookies.

I made these cookies for my coworkers and they turned out great! I used half the amount of peppermint called for in the recipe and it was just perfect. A couple of tips: be sure to freeze the peppermint kisses before adding them to the warm cookies to prevent them from melting and looking strange. Additionally, refrigerating the dough between batches helps the cookies maintain their shape. Highly recommend trying this recipe!

Rewritten review: Despite making several mistakes, I ended up giving this recipe 5 stars. I substituted a brownie mix with fudge brownie and used high-quality chocolate syrup, which made the consistency thicker than the original syrup. I added more water as needed and didn't have enough peppermint candy. However, using mint truffle kisses on top was a delightful twist. While the first batch melted the kisses too soon, and the second batch hardened, I still enjoyed the process. Next time, I plan to have all the necessary ingredients on hand and focus solely on baking. The dough was challenging to work with, but refrigerating it helped with shaping the cookie balls easily.

I recently tried Trader Joe's gluten-free brownie mix with a slight modification due to the size of the package. I omitted a tablespoon of water and substituted two tablespoons of Hershey's chocolate syrup from the brown plastic bottle. Despite encountering some challenges with the candies melting off the top during the baking process, the end result was satisfyingly delicious. Next time, I intend to follow the original recipe more closely, but this improvised version still managed to impress my "customers." These brownies are not only tasty but also perfect for a quick and convenient treat to bring along to any event. A big thank you to Hershey's Kitchens for the inspiration!

I had a 22oz box of brownie mix with chocolate chunks that I needed to use, so I decided to make these peppermint brownies and they were absolutely delicious! I added crushed peppermints and about 1/2 tsp of peppermint extract to the mix. I didn't add anything on top except for powdered sugar, and they turned out to be fantastic! I will definitely be baking these again.

Review Rewritten: This recipe is fantastic and simple to prepare. I opted not to include the crushed peppermint candies and instead used 1/2 tsp. of peppermint extract. The batch yielded 32 cookies.

Delicious and simple cookie recipe! I ended up with 32 cookies instead of 48, so next time I'll try for 38-42. At first, the dough seemed dry, but keep mixing - it will come together like cookie dough. Remember to refrigerate it for an hour as directed. I let the cookies cool on racks with parchment paper underneath. After ensuring they were completely cooled, I chilled the racks for 10 minutes to help the cookies release easily. With a little chilling, they came off perfectly and stayed fresh at room temperature. Making another batch tomorrow for my husband's office - they are truly fantastic!

These cookies disappeared quickly from the Christmas Eve dessert table. The only challenge I faced was finding the right timing to add the kisses - if the cookies cooled too much, it was difficult to insert them, but if it was too soon, they melted too quickly. Despite this, I actually liked how the melted kisses mixed with the cookie flavors. They have officially become a family favorite!

These cookies are absolutely delicious and simple to prepare! I made a few adjustments to the recipe. Instead of using a brownie mix with syrup, I opted for one with chocolate chips and added an extra tablespoon of water and oil to compensate. I decided to omit the crushed candy as I felt it might make the peppermint flavor too overpowering. I've already made five batches because everyone adores them! Each batch yields around 20 scrumptious cookies.

I made these cookies without any changes except I used chocolate peppermint truffle Kisses along with the red and white peppermint ones. This recipe is incredibly simple and the cookies turned out absolutely delicious.

The only downsides were that they flattened out more than shown in the pictures and the kisses melted when applied too soon. Other than that, it was fantastic!

I prepared these for our New Year's Eve gathering. They were a hit with everyone! The greatest advantage was how simple they were to make while still looking impressive.

These little gems are absolutely delightful! They are incredibly easy to prepare. I used a 22 oz. package of brownie mix with syrup and made sure to measure out the exact amount required by the recipe. If you can't find the mix with syrup, simply use syrup instead. The end result was delicious!

On my first attempt, I added the kisses after 2 minutes and they ended up melting.
