Ingredients

  • 1 cup uncooked white rice
  • 1 cup almonds
  • 1 cup sweetened flaked coconut
  • 3 cups boiling water
  • 1 (14-ounce) can coconut milk
  • 1 (14-ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 5 cups cold water, or more as needed
  • 5 cups ice

Directions

  1. Place the uncooked rice, almonds, and coconut flakes into a food processor. Process until the mixture reaches the consistency of sand.
  2. Transfer the ground mixture into a bowl and add the boiling water. Stir to combine, cover, and let it sit for 6 hours or overnight to allow the flavors to meld.
  3. Once rested, strain the rice mixture through a sieve twice, discarding the ground rice, almonds, and coconut flakes. The liquid remaining will be the base for your drink.
  4. Stir in the coconut milk and sweetened condensed milk to the strained mixture, ensuring everything is well combined.
  5. Add cold water to adjust the consistency to your preference, and mix thoroughly.
