Rewritten review: I really enjoyed this dish. I didn't have All Spice on hand, so I searched for a substitute online and found a suggestion to mix 1/3 tsp of ground cloves, 1/3 tsp of ground cinnamon, and 1/3 tsp of nutmeg for every 1 tsp of allspice. I followed this advice and the result was fantastic.

This was my first attempt at homemade apple cider, and it was a huge success! The recipe provided a fantastic base, and everyone loved it - there wasn't a drop left between the five of us! I improvised a bit by using nutmeg instead of allspice and putting the spices in a coffee filter since I didn't have cheesecloth. I also reduced the brown sugar based on feedback to less than a quarter cup. Adding a touch of orange peel directly to the cider and serving it with a slice of orange really enhanced the flavor. It was absolutely delicious! While I made several adjustments, I believe that the spices are flexible and the sugar can be adjusted to personal preference without compromising the recipe's foundation. I will definitely be making this again!

I made this recipe for Thanksgiving and will definitely make it again for Christmas! I only had 32oz of cider, but I kept the spices the same and simmered it in a pan for an hour instead of using a crock pot. I reduced the sugar to 2 tablespoons and improvised by letting the cinnamon sticks float around, while putting the other spices in a tea ball since I didn't have cheesecloth. The aroma filled the house and made it smell amazing too!

We had a fantastic bonfire night and I decided to try out this recipe. It was incredibly simple to make! I followed the stovetop method and decided to double the recipe, using a gallon. Instead of whole cloves, I used crushed cloves and the result was absolutely perfect! I received numerous compliments on how delicious it turned out. Thank you so much!

This dish was fantastic! When my parents returned from work, they commented on how wonderful the house smelled. Even my usually picky brother enjoyed it, which is a rare occurrence. I did have to adjust the measurements slightly because I had less cider than the recipe called for - I used 33 fluid ounces instead of 64. I ended up using 3/4 tsp of ground cinnamon, 2/3 tsp of ground allspice, 2/3 tsp of ground cloves, and 1 tbsp of brown sugar. Following the suggestion of another reviewer, I placed the allspice and cloves in a coffee filter tied with string, which worked like a charm.

Fantastic recipe! I've been making this drink throughout the winter, and my husband absolutely loves it! I adjusted the brown sugar to 1/4 cup since it was a bit too sweet for him. Instead of cinnamon sticks, I opted for ground cinnamon, using the conversion of 1/2 teaspoon of ground cinnamon per stick. I also used ground allspice instead of whole allspice, as that's what I had on hand, adding just a teaspoon of it. The result was perfect!

I prepared this dish for a family baby shower and it was a hit with everyone. I didn't have cheesecloth on hand, so I improvised by using a tea infuser instead. Surprisingly, it worked really well!

I made this dessert for my team's yearly holiday potluck. I included apple slices in the recipe and topped it off with whipped cream, caramel drizzle, and a sprinkle of ground cinnamon. The staff absolutely adored it!

I'm not a fan of cider, but this was absolutely incredible!

I absolutely adored this cider, however, it was a bit challenging to find whole allspice so I had to substitute with ground and sift it. I ended up freezing it, but it was a hit when I thawed it and heated it for a winter gathering. Perfect for a crowd!
