- pound sliced pepperoni sausage
- 1 (14 ounce) can pizza sauce
- 2 (12 ounce) packages refrigerated buttermilk biscuit dough
- onion, sliced and separated into rings
- 1 (10 ounce) can sliced black olives
- 1 (4.5 ounce) can sliced mushrooms
- 1 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
Directions
Step 1: Gather all ingredients.
Step 2: Preheat the oven to 400F (200C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.

Step 6: Cut each biscuit round into quarters. Arrange the pieces in the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
Step 7: Evenly spread the meat mixture over the biscuit dough.
Step 8: Sprinkle the onion rings, olives, and mushrooms on top of the meat mixture.
Step 9: Bake uncovered in the preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes or until the biscuits are fully cooked.
Step 10: Remove from the oven and sprinkle the mozzarella and Cheddar cheese on top.
Step 11: Return to the oven and continue baking for another 5 to 10 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Step 12: Let the casserole sit for 10 minutes before serving.

I was very skeptical about this dish...I don't really know why but intially, it didn't appeal to me. However, I made this per my boyfriend's request. He asked me to make a pizza-like dish without having to make actually make a pizza or the ones that have the noodles in it. I used italian sausage instead of beef, added a chopped green bell pepper, and instead of using 2 pkg biscuit dough, I had a can of "Pillsbury Grands" = which are large and thick. I split the refridgerated biscuits horizontally in half and layered them, following the remaining instructions. Its a little salty for my taste (not sure why????) but good and my boyfriend really seemed to enjoy this alot. Although I'm still trying to figure out where the saltiness came from (the sausage perhaps?) overall, it was pretty good and I might make this again when my boyfriend has a craving for his "pizza dish." Thanks Ginny.

I've gotten rave reviews every time I've made this. I have to bake gluten free, so made a quick batch of my KETO almond flour biscuits and use those. I use a metal pan (well sprayed) to get a crispier crust on the biscuits. I also add 1/4 tsp garlic powder to my biscuits. It's just enough, to give them a little more flavor. I've used several different toppings. But, I always use Spaghetti Sauce, with a little Italian seasoning. Because, I always have leftover Spaghetti sauce in the frig. I like to use up what I have. Thanks for a good recipe.

I tossed the biscuit dough in butter, italian seasoning, garlic powder, and onion powder. This recipe was fantastic and I can’t wait to make it again.

Instead of two pkgs of buttermilk biscuit dough I used one crescent dough sheet which fit my 9x13 pan exactly. I sprinkled the dough with some garlic powder, then baked the dough for several minutes to crisp it up while I cooked the ground beef, pepperoni and sliced mushrooms together. Then followed the rest of the recipe with a few minutes of broiler at the end. The dish was tasty and didn’t require any additional seasoning.

I just made this for dinner, my family loves it. We didn't have pepperoni so we used Italian sausage instead. We added mushrooms and fresh mozzarella ( leftover from another meal). Also I rolled the dough in a garlicky melted butter. So good and came together so quick. This is going into my weekly rotation.

My husband and I love this tasty and filling pizza. I like to brown 1 lb. sausage with the ground beef and freeze half for the next pizza.

I broiled it for the last 5 minutes to get the cheese crispy and I only had Kalamata Olives so I used them instead of black olives . We enjoyed it.

This is really good. I didn't expect it to be as good as it was considering it was canned biscuits. I used 3/4 lb ground round, canadian bacon diced instead of pepperoni, and seasoned the beef as it cooked with a bit of garlic powder, dried minced onion, salt, a pinch of sage and Italian seasoning. I made easy pizza sauce II for this and so I only had 8 oz can's worth of sauce, which was fine for us and I think I will do it the same next time too. I used an Italian blend of cheese, parmesan, and colby-mont. jack blend. I had a lot of half used packages to use up. My husband remarked how good this was and ate 3 pieces and was going for 4 but stopped to save some for his lunch tomorrow. This would be easy to personalize adding or leaving off any toppings you like.

I made this for a football game party I went to and it was a big hit with everybody. I used ground pork sausage instead of beef. I cooked the onions with some chopped fresh mushrooms in olive oil and layered, Pillsbury Grand biscuits, meat mixture, shredded moz. cheese and topped with the mushrooms and onions. Cooked it until the biscuits were starting to brown and was bubbling. So easy to make, would make a great dinner meal also.

I was pretty pleased. I used a ceramic dish instead of metal and the bottoms of the biscuits came out just right. I didn't do the whole meat sauce thing, I just used tomato sauce and put the cheese on, then threw on some onions and broccoli. It turned out great.

I made this for my sister and my husband, and it was a hit! After the cheese melted, I went to broil for about a minute and a half to brown the cheese, and it was amazing!!

I have made this 3 times now. I put the toppings under the cheese, on top of the sauce, now. The first time I made it, I put them in the sauce, but it honestly was just as good. I wanted my cheese a little more brown, so I put it on in the beginning tonight. It looks amazing!

I think that it was too gooey, the dough wasn't done to my liking. Next time - I think I will try to make it in a cast iron fry pan and change things around so it's more crispy crust.
