Crème Fraîche Chicken Recipe
Chicken with Pasta in Creamy Mushroom Sauce
Servings: 6
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 30 minutes
Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 6 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves
- cup white wine
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 (8 ounce) package penne or other pasta of your choice
- 1 large white onion, chopped
- 1 tablespoon chopped garlic
- 2 (8 ounce) packages sliced fresh mushrooms
- 2 cups crme frache
- 3 tablespoons sour cream
- cup grated Parmesan cheese for topping
Directions
Step 1: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken breasts and saut them until browned on both sides.
Step 2: Pour in the white wine and season with salt and pepper. Reduce the heat to low and simmer for about 20 minutes, until the chicken is cooked through and the juices run clear.
Step 3: While the chicken is cooking, bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Add the pasta and cook according to package instructions, stirring occasionally until tender but firm to the bite, about 10 minutes. Drain the pasta and set aside.
Step 4: Once the chicken is done, remove it from the skillet. Cut it into cubes and set aside.
Step 5: Add the chopped onion and garlic to the remaining juices in the skillet. Cook and stir until the onions are tender, about 5 minutes.
Step 6: Add the sliced mushrooms to the skillet and saut until they become soft and release their moisture, about 5-7 minutes.
Step 7: Stir in the cooked chicken, crme frache, and sour cream. Continue to cook, stirring occasionally, until the mixture is heated through.
Step 8: Serve the chicken and creamy mushroom sauce over the cooked pasta. Sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese before serving.
