Blackened Chicken Strips

- 2 tablespoons dry ranch dressing mix (such as Hidden Valley Ranch)
- tablespoon chili powder, or to taste
- teaspoon cayenne pepper
- teaspoon black pepper
- 1 pound chicken tenders
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
Directions
- In a small bowl, mix together the dry ranch dressing, chili powder, cayenne pepper, and black pepper.
- Coat the chicken tenders evenly with the dry rub mixture.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a cast iron skillet over medium heat.
- Place the chicken tenders into the hot skillet and cook for about 4 minutes without moving them, allowing the skin to blacken.
- Turn the chicken tenders and cook for another 2 minutes, or until the chicken is no longer pink in the center and the juices run clear.
