Quick and Easy Hamburger Stroganoff Recipe

Ingredients:
- 1 (16 ounce) package egg noodles
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
- 1 (4.5 ounce) can sliced mushrooms, drained (Optional)
- 1 tablespoon garlic salt, or to taste
- 1 (10.5 ounce) can cream of mushroom soup (such as Campbells)
- 1 (10.5 ounce) can cream of chicken soup (such as Campbells)
- 1 cup sour cream
Directions:
- Gather all ingredients.
- Fill a large pot with lightly salted water and bring to a rapid boil. Cook the egg noodles for 7 to 9 minutes, until tender yet firm to the bite. Drain the noodles and set aside.
- Meanwhile, melt butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chopped onion and saut until tender and translucent, about 5 minutes.
- Add ground beef in small chunks to the skillet. Cook, stirring frequently, until browned and crumbly, approximately 5 to 7 minutes.
- Sprinkle flour over the beef mixture and cook, stirring constantly, for about 1 minute to thicken the sauce.
- If using, stir in the mushrooms and garlic salt for additional flavor.
- Pour in both the cream of mushroom and cream of chicken soups. Stir to combine and cook for about 5 minutes, or until the mixture is heated through.
- Add sour cream to the skillet and stir until smooth and heated through, an additional 2 to 3 minutes.
- Serve the beef mixture over the cooked egg noodles, and enjoy!
