Fried Sesame Chicken

This crispy and flavorful fried sesame chicken recipe is simple to make and perfect for a quick dinner. The tender chicken pieces are coated in a smooth batter, deep-fried to golden perfection, and drained on paper towels for a deliciously crispy exterior.

Ingredients

  • 4 skinless, boneless chicken breasts
  • 2 cups corn oil
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • cup water
  • cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoons sesame seeds, toasted
  • 1 teaspoons salt

Directions

  1. Rinse the chicken under cold water and pat it dry with paper towels. Cut the chicken into 1x1x inch pieces.
  2. Fill a deep fryer with corn oil, ensuring its no more than one-third full. Heat the oil to medium temperature.
  3. In a small bowl, beat the egg and add the water. Stir well to combine.
  4. Mix in the flour, sesame seeds, and salt. Stir until the batter is smooth and well combined.
  5. Dip the chicken pieces into the batter, allowing any excess to drip off.
  6. Carefully add the battered chicken to the hot oil in small batches. Fry for about 4 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove a piece from the oil to test for doneness.
  7. Once fried, remove the chicken and drain it on paper towels.
