Cook Time: 20 minutes
This simple recipe combines juicy turkey meatballs wrapped in flaky crescent roll dough for a delicious appetizer or snack. Perfect for any occasion, these bites are easy to make and full of flavor.
Ingredients
- 1 teaspoon butter (or as needed)
- 1 pound ground turkey
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1 envelope dry onion soup mix
- 1 tablespoon dried parsley
- 2 cloves garlic, chopped
- teaspoon salt
- teaspoon ground black pepper
- 2 (8-ounce) packages refrigerated crescent roll dough
- 1 egg
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 325F (165C). Butter two cookie sheets and set aside.
- In a large bowl, mix together the ground turkey, chopped onion, onion soup mix, dried parsley, garlic, salt, and pepper until well combined.
- Shape the turkey mixture into about 48 small meatballs.
- Unroll one package of crescent rolls, keeping the second package refrigerated. Separate the dough along the dotted lines and cut each triangle into thirds.
- Place a meatball in the center of each dough triangle. Stretch the dough around the meatball, pinching the edges to seal it inside.
- Place the stuffed rolls seam-side down onto one of the prepared cookie sheets. Repeat with the second package of crescent rolls and the remaining meatballs.
- In a small bowl, whisk the egg and brush the egg wash over the top of each roll.
- Bake the rolls in the preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the internal temperature of the meatballs reaches at least 160F (71C) when tested with an instant-read thermometer.
- Remove from the oven and serve warm.
Tips
- Keep the crescent roll dough refrigerated until you're ready to use it. Its easier to work with when cold.
- If you have leftovers, you can freeze the baked rolls. Reheat them in the oven at 325F (165C) for about 20 minutes or until warmed through.
