Spicy Sushi Roll Recipe
Ingredients
- cup mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon chile sauce
- 1 teaspoons togarashi (Japanese seven spice)
- 1 teaspoon prepared wasabi
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 3 (3 ounce) fillets imitation crabmeat, cut into 1 -inch pieces
- 2 cups cooked sushi rice
- 3 sheets nori (dry seaweed)
Directions
- In a medium bowl, combine the mayonnaise, chile sauce, togarashi, wasabi, chili powder, and paprika. Mix thoroughly.
- Gently fold in the imitation crabmeat, ensuring that each piece is evenly coated with the sauce mixture.
- Lay out the nori sheets on a flat surface. Spread a thin, even layer of cooked sushi rice on top of each sheet, leaving about 1 inch of space at the top.
- Spoon a portion of the crabmeat mixture onto the top edge of each nori sheet, spreading it out into a straight line.
- Carefully roll the nori sheet around the filling, starting from the edge with the crabmeat mixture. Roll tightly but gently until the entire sheet is wrapped around the filling.
- Use a sharp knife to cut the roll into 8 equal pieces, making sure to clean the knife between cuts for cleaner slices.
- Serve the sushi rolls immediately, or refrigerate until ready to enjoy.
Cook's Notes
